  1. I like it And remember guys, we're going into 2014, not 1964
  2. What's to say they haven't tried and don't want to be involved from a respect for the dead and/or any possible legal reasons. Does seem like Porsche has a PR nightmare on their hands, and that will get worse if the investigation indicates that it was the vehicles characteristics or other problems that caused the wreck.
  3. Haven't had the time or money to even start yet...........
  4. For some reason, I keep thinking of James Dean and his Porsche Spyder in relation to this wreck. Ken, I too have wonder about this car, 6 owners in 8 years and what sounds like well under 5k on the clock (I put similar mileage on my Jeep last winter alone), and then to find out it that these cars are difficult for even more experienced drivers (like Stig #2) to control and that this car had separate issues of it's own............... Kinda waiting for Barris to say he told Walker that this was a "bad" car like he says he warned Dean of on that Spyder.
  5. Curiousity got the better of me, so I went digging on Youtube. Considering this "Stig" was still Ben Collins, he has a huge amount of racing in several different series in a number of different styles of vehicles beside doing the Top Gear Power Laps, the one he drove was giving him problems. There's something I've been seeing is that the power steering went out, wjat that resulted in, I don't know, having had power steering go away on a car that weighed less and had a whole lot less tire, I can't imagine what it has to be like in those cars.
  6. Were those cars drive by wire or drive by cable?
  7. You hear about this yet Harry? http://www.suntimes.com/24058763-761/cops-shoots-driver-dragging-officer-in-black-friday-incident-at-romeoville-kohls.html
  8. True, but you never know with some people.
  9. I work for a HobbyTown and am always recommending that whole lineup to folks looking to get a kid (or a few) into models. I do warn them that the '05 Impala has a shot gun, just in case, though.
  10. We've got a F-150 in the back yard that I'm surprised hasn't done that yet. I think most Fords at one time were veeeerrrry capable of that
  11. Nice build, I do like their whole line of recent snap kits from them.
  12. This, although I do enjoy "Counting Cars" from time to time too.
  13. Being all excited about being able to fill my Jeep for "only" $3.19/gal last night..........then realizing that when I bought it 10 years ago, I was filling it for well under $2.00/gallon............it could be worse though, it could be the $4.45/gal I paid at the height of the '08 gouging....er...summer driving season............
  14. LOL, those are great!
  15. I heard about that........
  16. She kinda does!
  17. Lol.
  18. The younger daughter of the owners of my store has one of those, and whenever I see it parked next to my Cherokee all I can think is "I can't believe that those two are related!" (via Renault). And speaking of choke, when she told me her's was a nearly $30k vehicle, I nearly did choke........and again when she told me that because it has AWD, it only holds 11gallons of gas! Keep in mind, my 200 cost less than that with the lifetime extended warranty, and my usual fill up on the 200 (16.9 gal.) as well as my Jeep (20.5 gal.) after a week of driving (depending on what I'm driving that week) are usually more than what that thing holds!
  19. Eh, I doubt my 200 would have faired any better, the trailer hitch would have cut through the floor or gas tank, possibility of that with fire #1. Not sure what would have handled fire #2 better than that, besides a battle tank
  20. Yup, good thing there weren't any j-walking families on my way to or from work today...........it could have looked kinda like that!
  21. ROFL, Charlie! I think that actually beats this sticker! http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o288/cordiaturboowner/XJ%20Body%20Modifications/WP_000583.jpg
  22. How was the drive to work for you guys today? Seemed like as soon as I crossed from DuPage to Kane Counties that every time I touched the very worn brakes on my Jeep, the tires locked up and slid, got a bit too aggressive with the throttle, they would spin in 4wd, manually downshift, and it would squirm as it dropped into first. I then noticed other, much newer cars and trucks (w/ABS, TC, SC, ECT) having similar problems. Turns out the plow/salt truck that was working that area lost power steering as it got started and didn't get much done on top of Kane underestimating the weather......
  23. Are you sure it wasn't Stewie driving?
