  1. At least it can't be mistaken for devil's horns
  2. Pretty sure I had somebody try a "swoop and stop" on me while driving home from work tonight.
  3. That don't sound so good, hope he's ok!
  4. Yes?! I thought that the chase sceens were computer generated and many of the sounds came straight from Jay Leno's collection! I've also read that the chase between the Yellow Deusy and the Buick cop car has one glaring inaccuracy.........the "Buick" is a '30
  5. LOLOLOL I finally got it under some good lighting Sunday........there will be some sanding needed on the body, you can still see the machine marks in the plastics. It is no Moebius kit, that's for dang sure!
  6. Showed the store owner and the manager the kit today, we'll be carrying both the Cars and Planes shelf displays. Apparently we can get them through Alliance Games too.
  7. Somebody needs to do a spider apocalypse truck and diorama. A basic Zombie truck withRam Bars, machine guns, flame throwers, spot lights, roof ladders, ect.........then have some guy cowering on the roof with a small spider on a tree stump next to the truck.
  8. For some reason, this comes to mind for most of our collections
  9. Yea Pete, that would piss me off to no end too, no matter which one of you to I were!
  10. What frustrates me about this is that even if it's something simple like confirming stock, checking the price ( as in looking t the tag and repeating the price), stuff like that. I understand if it's a tech question, or they don't know what the part number is, but when it's a matter of wanting to ask one of the guys because we're one of the guys, even for a simple set of screws just kinda pisses me off. Seen it happen to her mother, her half sister, and our only our other female co-worker.
  11. My boss' daughter had a few calls today where she was rather rudely asked to be connected to a male employee, one of which didn't even know the right name for the vehicle he had questions on..........
  12. I was screwing around on the computer at work and it looks like ZVEZDA also has Mack (#2202), Red (#2025), Sarge (#2024), and the Japanese Prototype racer Shu Yodoroki (#2026) listed in the HTU point of sale system with the above numbers and are listed as "To Be Announced" on Stevens International's sales site. Hopefully they don't go the way of the AMT '50 Olds and '51 Stude kits that had been listed for years in the computer.
  13. They seem parts intensive, but might be of more interest to pre-school and early grade school aged kids who want to build with Dad, Grampa, or their Uncle than Revell's 1/32 snappers would.
  14. I just checked Great Planes' retailer site and it looks like they have all of these kits on order too. ZVEZDA is also going to be producing snap kits from the movie "Planes" as well.
  15. From what I can tell of the price tag, Glen got them from Stevens International, so if your LHS has an account with them, they should be able to order them for you. I'm going to mention them to my boss, see if she might order some too.
  16. I just so happened to find this kit at the Schaumburg HobbyTown when I stopped there on my way home from the I-Hobby show to say Hi and they happened to have the whole series in stock. After reading about this series in the Cars from Cars thread, I figured what the heck and picked up one of the Doc Hudson kits, so here it is! The Box Art Here's the whole kit The Decals Chassis, Floor, and Tires The "Body" and "Chrome" And one interesting little detail, there are in fact eyes upon you! It's interesting, Not the greatest, but looks like it should build a decent model once done and might be a good excuse to try ALCLAD's chrome paint on the "chrome" pieces and then BMF chrome trim.
  17. LOL! Um, they don't make them like they used to Ramfins
  18. I picked one up at the Schaumburg HTU today when I stopped in to say Hi. Looks decent detail for what it is........but the body is multi piece, literally 5 pieces, not including bumpers, grill, and the headlight/rearview mirror pieces. Edit, here's a link to my pics and thoughts on this kit http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=80135
  19. I was just there, Great Planes as a whole wasn't there, so no RMX stuff, Round 2 had some interesting things, and Mobius didn't have much. I did think I was going to watch a Battle Bot Nerd lop off a limb from another though!
  20. I must be tired..........thought this was called The Pendulum Painting Booth Thread..................... That said, I like those ideas!
  21. A 383 and the 440 look similar, but aren't quite the same. The 440 is a taller engine than the 383 as well as larger dislacement. You could fool most people in 1:1 by "mis labeling" the engine, get somebody like my Dad, he could not only tell with a quick look at the engine, but then play 20 questions with the owner to see if they know what they got
  22. Not surprised, there was something I saw few years back that they were talking about doing that as the tech improved tothe point it could be used to make things like wrenches.
  23. DANGIT!!!!!!!!!!!! Where's the freaking like button!
  24. Wouldn't 3D printing allow for hollow exhaust pipes without having to fabricate them from styrene or aluminum?
  25. That is pretty good, at least it was an easily sourced part too. When that happened to my '88 Shadow ES Turbo back in 2000, it broke the grill and bent the hood.........both of which were only on the '87 & '88 model year cars. I ended up giving the car away as it was '03 when I bought my Jeep after killing the motor a couple in '02 and never geting around to swapping in a JY motor.....then having my Lebaron finally die of old age.
