An Almost Cool TV Commercial
Danno replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Oh, yeah! Love them. Especially got a kick out of the one in which they go to a park that says "No Pets Allowed" and they have to leave their cat in the Subaru! ?? -

Ha, ha! You got me. My bad - typo. Sorry for the stress. (Good catch, Jim!) Wait a minute. I was just testing to see if anyone reads my posts. That's it. It was just a test! I didn't make a boo-boo, it was a test. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it! LOL. ??

MCM Issue# 208 is here! Arrived today. Wow! Outstanding issue . . . great work, Gregg, Darryl, Tim, Larry, Rachael, and David! Great articles, new product reviews, tool reviews, and kit reviews, some super build-up articles, and a neat new feature: they're grabbing some of the models shown here on the Forum by our fellow forum members! Terrific issue! * Of course, some might say I'm a bit partial -- since it features 8 pages (37 pix) of coverage of the dscV16 - DESERT SCALE CLASSIC Virtual Venue Model Car Championship!! We're pretty proud of that. A great group of entries are featured, and, I think it's the first time I've ever seen it - a QR codes you can scan for more coverage!! Cool. Fantastic, even!! Congrats to everyone (almost too numerous to mention) who has work on display in #208!! And, congratulations (again) to all the MCM Forum members who won awards in last year's dscV16 - and - congratulations (anew) to all the MCM Forum members whose dscV16 entries were selected to be featured in Issue# 208! You guys all made us look good. [FYI - In case you missed it, we decided to Do It Again! Currently, dscV17 is underway! Don't miss it! And, good luck to all this year's entrants!] ??

FSM - The Automotive Content Thread
Danno replied to vincen47's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Really? Obviously that happened sometime after I quit wasting my time with their blog (I can't in good conscious call it a forum). I guess they left it up if it was hyper-critical, but I never saw them leave anything up that was positive, neutral, or benign. Live and learn. But then, I guess it makes no difference now. ?? -
That's right! I totally spaced that it wasn't his car, OWNED by him. It belonged to Genesis, so it is their consent that would be necessary to interrogate the EDR. If Genesis was not willing to consent to the "search" of the EDR, then a court-issued search warrant would be required. The driver would have no say whatsoever, unless Genesis was influenced by "protecting" the driver. ??

FSM - The Automotive Content Thread
Danno replied to vincen47's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Apparently you never tried to post anything on a Klambake Pubishing website that even came close to mentioning Model Cars Magazine. Instant deletion and banishment. There was no allowance for speaking the name of a competitor, let along discussing it whether good or bad. The fact that this forum even allows FSM or SA(no E) or Klambake to be discussed (pro, con, or otherwise) demonstrates vastly more maturity. ?? -
Congrats Steve Guthmiller
Danno replied to Classicgas's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Congrats, Steve! Hey, everybody, Steve kicked some bootocks in the DESERT SCALE CLASSIC dscV16 Virtual Venue Model Car Championship last year, too! His Cutlass won its class (Factory Stock) and a Master Award (Best Interior)! Can't wait to see what he has in store for us this year! ?? -
Depends. If they obtained the EDR (Electronic Data Recorder) info via search warrant or by owner consent, then it would be admissable. Generally.* Courts have long ago taken judicial notice that the technology works, is accurate, and is reliable. * There are always screwball exceptions. ??

I guess I misread the title of the thread. I thought this was going to be about a "new normal" in incontinence. Actually, I'm relieved that it wasn't. ??

Our pleasure, Jim. We look forward to seeing your entries! ??

True, Jim. Categories designated as 'must be street legal' require at least lights, glass, wipers, mufflers, seat belts (for open cars), treaded tires, and license plates. We require a photo image of the rear of the vehicle to allow confirmation of the license plate (must represent an actual MVD registration plate - "Mooneyes" plates, etc., don't cut it). In the event an entry doesn't have the minimal 'street legal' equipment, we can/will move it to another appropriate category that doesn't specify 'street legal' - if one is available. Our experience has been that many builders produce killer, highly detailed factory stock or street machine or pickup models (just a couple of examples) but don't bother to attach a license plate to the bumper! FYI - Often times, the 'street legal' details make all the difference between the nice entries and THE WINNER! Can't say I've ever seen a 1:1 car on the street with a chrome-plated "1969" on its rear bumper, but some of the otherwise exquisite models entered in contests would have you think so. BTW, we also have a 'catch-all' category for anyone who doesn't want to bother with details. It's called "Curbside." We don't judge interiors, undercarriages, engine compartments, etc. We only look at what you might see of a 1:1 as you walk past it while it is parked at the curb. Hence, the name of the category. I hope this answers your questions or helps with clarifications. Don't hesitate to ask or contact us if any questions remain. -danno- dscV17.com dsc-hq@cox.net
