  1. No problem. Sorry I put that pic of my fathers Doodlebugs in the build thread, I thought I was putting it here. I must have clicked the link for the build from here and not payed attention to where I was. Anyway if you need any pictures of more I have plenty of the ones we've fixed over the years.
  2. Great start! I'm watching this one for sure.
  3. I managed to build a header for it. Not really what I wanted but it's gonna have to work.
  4. Thanks Bob. Thanks Dennis. Appreciate it Bill!
  5. Great start! I love the way you did your wheels, I might have to borrow that idea. I've helped revive alot of these old Doodlebugs over the years with my father. He has a soft spot for them, it's what they had to use as kid. He still looks for them to restore to working condition and even has on he still uses today. Here's a few pics of my father when he was a kid on a couple of his and the small pic is my Grandfather & his brother.
  6. Thanks everyone for all the great compliments. I haven't gotten much bench time but I did get the transmission done, some paint & plug wires.
  7. Thanks Mathias, I appreciate it. Thanks Trevor. Thanks Bill, I saw the picture of that, it looks very cool! Thanks!
  8. I will be getting a few of these. Regardless of new or old tooling. How many of us are really going to build it out of the box without cutting it up or doing a lot of upgrades anyway? That's the fun part of building a model, to see how far we can go with a kit. Just my 2 cents...
  9. That's an amazing looking build Dennis. Actually, these pictures of this build gave me some inspiration too. I've seen them here before and loved them. I was going to use a similar timing cover as yours but I couldn't get it to fit right. Thanks for looking!
  10. Tanks Zippi! Thanks David, I wanted something that's not the typical powerplant.
  11. I started with an old 30 coupe body I had and about 3 other boxes of Model A parts. Dug up a frame, some front & rear end parts and started figuring out what to do with it all. First I knew I had to lower the top a little so I chopped the top just enough to make it look better but not a crazy "mail slot" chop. Then I had to figure out an engine but I didn't want to build a typical everyday seen hot rod with a Chevy or even any V8. So I looked online & found a very cool overhead Model A engine and thought that that's what I wanted. I scratch built the front timing gear cover, side cover, head, valve cover and magneto. Anyway, work is slow but I'll get there eventually, this is what I got so far.
  12. I like that color too. Nice work, keep it up!
  13. Pretty cool fun build, I can't wait to see more.
  14. Great looking Ford! And I learned a new weathering technique, Thanks!
  15. Great looking build!
  16. I would love to see this built. They offered a few different versions of these. My fathers friend has one that is gear driven and my father had one years ago that was chain drive. I started to build a model of it but could never find a chain that looked right. Here are some pictures of my fathers before it was finished and a wheel I made from an old pill bottle cap. I hope you build this, I'll be watching for sure!
  17. Thanks Tommy, they only used this truck in season 1 for 4 or 5 episodes. Thanks Alan, I appreciate it! Thanks Greg, I did use this video! Thanks Jeff! Thanks Steve, yah it's not his most recognized wrecker. Thanks Larry! Appreciate it Jeremy!
  18. Thanks Mike, when it comes to making something look worn I can paint. But if I wanted to paint something to look nice, forget it.
  19. Here is Cooter's wrecker that was used in the 1st season of The Dukes of Hazzard. Scratch built wrecker parts & more, Iceman Cooter figure & 69 grill.
  20. I'm almost finished with Cooter's wrecker. I painted the figure today.
  21. I wish when I "Threw together" something it looked that good. Nice work on all of this!
