  1. Thanks Mathias, I appreciate it. Thanks Trevor. Thanks Bill, I saw the picture of that, it looks very cool! Thanks!
  2. I will be getting a few of these. Regardless of new or old tooling. How many of us are really going to build it out of the box without cutting it up or doing a lot of upgrades anyway? That's the fun part of building a model, to see how far we can go with a kit. Just my 2 cents...
  3. That's an amazing looking build Dennis. Actually, these pictures of this build gave me some inspiration too. I've seen them here before and loved them. I was going to use a similar timing cover as yours but I couldn't get it to fit right. Thanks for looking!
  4. Tanks Zippi! Thanks David, I wanted something that's not the typical powerplant.
  5. I started with an old 30 coupe body I had and about 3 other boxes of Model A parts. Dug up a frame, some front & rear end parts and started figuring out what to do with it all. First I knew I had to lower the top a little so I chopped the top just enough to make it look better but not a crazy "mail slot" chop. Then I had to figure out an engine but I didn't want to build a typical everyday seen hot rod with a Chevy or even any V8. So I looked online & found a very cool overhead Model A engine and thought that that's what I wanted. I scratch built the front timing gear cover, side cover, head, valve cover and magneto. Anyway, work is slow but I'll get there eventually, this is what I got so far.
  6. I like that color too. Nice work, keep it up!
  7. Pretty cool fun build, I can't wait to see more.
  8. Great looking Ford! And I learned a new weathering technique, Thanks!
  9. Great looking build!
  10. I would love to see this built. They offered a few different versions of these. My fathers friend has one that is gear driven and my father had one years ago that was chain drive. I started to build a model of it but could never find a chain that looked right. Here are some pictures of my fathers before it was finished and a wheel I made from an old pill bottle cap. I hope you build this, I'll be watching for sure!
  11. Thanks Tommy, they only used this truck in season 1 for 4 or 5 episodes. Thanks Alan, I appreciate it! Thanks Greg, I did use this video! Thanks Jeff! Thanks Steve, yah it's not his most recognized wrecker. Thanks Larry! Appreciate it Jeremy!
  12. Thanks Mike, when it comes to making something look worn I can paint. But if I wanted to paint something to look nice, forget it.
  13. Here is Cooter's wrecker that was used in the 1st season of The Dukes of Hazzard. Scratch built wrecker parts & more, Iceman Cooter figure & 69 grill.
  14. I'm almost finished with Cooter's wrecker. I painted the figure today.
  15. I wish when I "Threw together" something it looked that good. Nice work on all of this!
  16. I would use an A engine. The T engine is a lot different. The T has no water pump and if it does it's an accessory on the side of the engine to the bottom radiator hose. The manifolds & cab are a lot different and the oil pan is 1 piece from the front crank to the transmission tail. Not to mention a ton of other stuff. The Model B engine would be closer because at least it has a fuel pump. I think if you use a few Flathead v8 parts (oil filter, air cleaner & some scratch building) you could make an A engine look right.
  17. I got these yesterday. Never disappointed in ICEMAN, the grill looks amazing. The wheels & tires are a gift from a fellow modeler here. I'm not sure if he would want me to mention his name but you know who you are & THANKS SOOO MUCH!. This is a great community here for sure.
  18. Yup, that's the color and that's what it says on the label. Oh well, I'm sure I'll use it for something.
  19. I bought this can of Testors paint the other day from HL. When I used it on the hood of this truck it was a large flake yellowish gold. A nice color but not what I wanted or anything what the cap looks like. As you can see, the hood is back to plastic.☹
  20. I've been playing with this Coca Cola issue 72 Chevy trying to turn it into Cooter's 1st tow truck. I bought some paint that I thought was the right color, until I sprayed it & it was a High flake gold nothing like the color on the cap.?
