Foose 56 International?
mchook replied to mchook's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Alright, I finished the interior (didn't come out the way I wanted) but it's done. I used some blue shop towel for the floor, I just thinned some white glue & water to lay it down. The dash kept cracking in half where cut it to narrow it so when I finally got it fixed I ended up opening the glove box. I really don't know why I did all that extra work but it opens & closes. I had to make my own windshield and rear glass and that was a huge PIA too. It's about finished, which is good because I'm getting tired of looking at this thing. -
Does your machine fill quickly with just cold water? If not, it will make a buzzing sound because the water can't get in as fast as it should. If you have it set on cold rinse it will do the same thing. If it's set on "warm" (fill or rinse) you wont notice the sound because it's just pulling more hot water than cold. I would check the cold water line. Sometimes you pick up dirt in your cold water and it gets stuck in the screen in the back of the machine where hose connects. Turn off the water and take the hose off the back of the machine. Use a small screw driver and pull out the screen , if it's full of junk just wash it out and replace it. DON'T leave it out or dirt can get in the valve and make it stay open and the water wont stop coming in and flood everything. This was common 30 years ago when I did it for a living, but man, things have changed a lot since then. Our washer just died after over 20 years and it got used every day. It was a great machine that was easy to fix, but the transmission finally gave up and blew oil all over. The new one has all sorts of electronics so when this brakes I'll be calling someone to work on it. Good luck!

Amazing job! Is it 1/24 1/25 scale? Diecast or resin? -

I helped a friend put a roof on his camp a couple weeks ago. Yesterday I helped finish up the porch roof & clean up. He knows I wont take any money from him so he tossed this bottle in the tool box of my truck. I told him he had to come over to help drink it some weekend. Having a drink with a good friend is more important to me than a few dollars.

Thanks guys, I have something else I could use your help with. I hate doing interiors so I usually just go black with little details. Any suggestions on color for the floor, seats, dash, well I guess the whole interior? I don't want to go crazy with it but more than just black blah. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks -
Welcome aboard Todd! Lots of great stuff & people here, have fun!

This is my favorite Torino, 1970. Your paint looks great to me, I'm definitely following this one. Back in 1989 I had a 1970 Fairlane 500 which was basically a Torino with different chrome. It was white with a black vinyl top, 351w with a 3 speed on the floor. One of the fastest cars I've owned, you had to slip the clutch to get it going, it was high geared but you could get almost 100mph out of 2nd. Thanks for the memories!!!

Oh, I see what you mean, DUH on my part. I didn't think you meant anything bad by it, I just had a bit of a brain fart. It's been one of those weeks. Seriously though, I really do need to clean up my bench so it doesn't look like such a mess. Or find a cleaner place to take pictures.? -

I finished the tailgate up & added the bumperettes. Still need to paint the bumper and do a little more weathering. If we get a 1/2 way good day again I'll get the interior painted. It was 65 degrees yesterday and when I woke up this morning we had an inch of snow. Tis the season! -

Thanks Steve, I added some bumperettes to it. We'll see if it looks right after some weathering. Ya, I got a little carried away with the rust in the bed.? -
Good looking little hot rod. I like what you've done so far, keep up the great work.

Well, the decals are on and the wrecker boom is in the parts box. I hacked off the running board brackets because they looked funny with the truck being so low, plus I'm getting lazy and didn't want to build them.? I narrowed the Foose bumper and after I weather it a little that will be done. Now that it will be a regular pickup I had to make a tailgate. I hacked up the resin one and made a simple one to fit, nothing fancy. The letters on the resin one aren't right for the truck but I cut them out and put them on it anyway. Little by little it's getting there, thanks again to everyone for all the interest and comments! -

Thanks Jeff, now I just have to figure out what to put in the bed for "rust proofing" stuff.? -
Good luck with that!?
