Foose 56 International?

For sure, I'm not trying a nice paint job again for a while. It might even end up with a wrecker boom in it. -

Thanks Tim, my scratch building skills can't compare to most people here but I try. I'd love to see the other Lincoln you mentioned. Although, I wouldn't want to see it next to mine because then I would see just how bad mine is. Thanks Ira, I appreciate it! I finished to hood & mounted the radiator & headlights but now I have a new issue. I asked my wife what she thought of the model & the first thing she asked was "Why is it shiny? Aren't you going to make it a junker?"? After I got done laughing I told her it was suppose to be a nice shiny car. Then she wanted to know if the top should be a flat black. When I look at the picture of the actual car it looks like a canvas covered top but now I'm not sure. What do you guys think? Flat or gloss top?

These showed up yesterday. I can't believe I ended up with them, I figured I didn't stand a chance after seeing all the other amazing builds.

Foose 56 International?

I got it from RMR. Their site said it was out of stock but I emailed & asked anyway and I had it by the end of the week. Ron is a great guy! -
Please don't tease me like this, I'm dying to make this look worn & used but I said I would try to make it shiny.? I got the body mounted to the chassis, interior finished & the top is as good as it's gonna get. I have to paint the headlight bar & some other parts but of course it's raining again today. I was going to glue the radiator in place but I don't dare until the hood is finished. Once the car, "now truck" is finished I'll start building the wrecker boom.

Thanks Carl. Well, it's up on all 4 and I had to use the wheels it came with. Those Beverly Hillbillies kits aren't so easy to find anymore and my T wheel experiment went not so good. It should look ok with the wire wheels plus I found a photo of an old wrecker with wire wheels & it was towing a bus so technically it would work. Anyway, the body is painted & so are the fenders. I have a little more to do on the top before I'll be ok with it. It's getting there, slowly, mostly because of my little new friend that wont leave me alone.

Yup, do it.

66 Ford 4wd step side pickup
mchook replied to fordf-100's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Looks great! I mean it looks like BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH, but that's the point. Nice weathering, I don't think it's overdone, you can still see the paint. When you get to the point of more rust than paint, that's when it becomes overdone. -
I was looking through some old magazines I got from a friend and there was a few "Auto World Modelcars" from 1987 88 89. It's funny, 1987 doesn't sound like that long ago to me but when I look at those prices HOLY COW! Why didn't I buy 2 or 3 of each back then? After thinking about it, I remember back then I was only buying Hot Rods and 50s cars & trucks, I wasn't into the 60s muscle cars yet. Oh well, it's my own fault for not being able to see into the future and buy them. Anyway, check out these kits & prices and compare them to what they sell for today, or maybe don't because it will make you cry. If you want to see more let me know and I'll add more pictures.

1957 Chevy 4 door Resin Question
mchook replied to disconovaman's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Hi James, I was told to by Sam I Am that he emailed him through his faq tag & had some luck getting what he needed. I found something I really wanted from RMR and it was out of stock too, so I did the same. Within a day I got an email back and by the end of the week I had what I wanted. Ron is a great guy, give it a shot, he might have what you need too. -
Got mine yesterday, great issue!

What did you screw-up today??
mchook replied to TransAmMike's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Tried to glue my 1928 Lincolns body to the fenders and it wouldn't stay in place. Screwed the paint on both parts, I'm about ready to smash this thing! -
Traded with philo426, everything went great!

Motor trend super models

I like it for the fact that it might get more people involved in the hobby. I thinks he's trying to make it simple and to have fun building so eventually you'll want to do more detail on your kits. I don't think many would watch if he spent the whole half hour sanding a kit for paint, and we ALL spend a lot of time doing that. Hopefully as the show goes on he'll dive into more detailed work. Just my 2 cents.
