  1. This looks like fun. I'd love to get in on this with a "diamond in the rough" kit. They're a bit pricey for me today but I have a trailer, 53 F100 truck, 40 ford sedan & even some left over parts from the original kit I built back in the 80s. Check out the price in 87 from a autoworld MODEL CARS mag I have.
  2. Thanks Bob. It was my first time making something so low, kinda fun. I'm thinking of doing another one soon, I have a 56 International pickup that I might do the same way.
  3. Hi Pat, great work so far, this thing is going to be sweet. I used a 41 Chevy pickup dash on mine. I cut it in the middle & added a small piece to widen it. Just a thought...
  4. Now that's a pretty cool idea! I'll be watching for this one for sure.
  5. How are you getting in contact with these guys at RMR. I check their website almost everyday and everything is out of stock. Any help with contacting them would be great. Thanks.
  6. I've been selling on ebay from the beginning and it's had its ups and downs over the years. Lately it's been awful. I've been selling some vintage Transformers and I've had so many people not paying it's ridiculous. I sold one item 4 times and even offered people second chance offer with nothing. It doesn't seem that ebay cares if people pay or not. Yes, I block them from bidding again but they should be removed all together. Especially when you look at their feedback and they have a bunch of it saying NON PAYING BIDDER. Of course it's under their positive feedback because sellers can't leave negative feedback for buyers anymore. I find myself making my listings "Buy it now" so I can get paid but I don't care for that. I like seeing people get into bidding wars and driving the price up, if I can get more money that's great. They're new payment situation sucks too. I had to open a new checking account just for ebay and I have to wait 5 or more days to get paid. What a joke! Now the buyer has to wait longer to get their item because I'm not shipping it until I see the money in my account. Oh well, I'm done complaining, I'll just keep listing & hope for the best.
  7. Very nice build Al.
  8. I got a little more work done this week but not much. I shot some paint on the body, which I'm not happy with but it will have to do. The picture makes it look bright blue but it's really much darker. The seat, dash & door panels are painted too. I finished the exhaust but forgot to take a pic. I'm probably going to use the wire wheels because I can't find any wooden ones that I'm happy with but we'll see, I still might work on making some T wheels work.
  9. Thanks Tom, that boom was a test build for my Model A wrecker I built a while back. I tried to make is resemble the Weaver 3G but it's not quite right so it's my "does it look right in there?" boom.
  10. Congrats on all your wins Fabrizio, you deserve them, your work is AMAZING!!!
  11. Ok, now that I think about it, this could go here too. I started working on this 1928 Lincoln wrecker, I hope to get more work done soon. here's the wip thread..
  12. HOLY COW!!! That is amazing! I know I keep saying this to everyone but I can't wait to see this finished too. Great fab work, it looks factory made.
  13. It sure does belong here! Great concept, I can't wait to see more.
  14. Great looking rescue. Are you going to add a logo or something on the side? It would be really cool if you could make a decal of your avatar with "The Captain Spaulding Rod Shop" or something.
  15. That's one slick Torino! Nice job!
  16. The work on this is amazing! Great job, I can't wait to see more!
  17. WOW! Beautiful truck, great work.
  18. I worked on bed the last few days and it doesn't look like I accomplished much. I still have a bunch of sanding to do but it's getting there. I think the hardest thing for me is to remember to take pictures while I'm doing this. The tow boom isn't the one I'll be using but it works for just seeing how it will look.
  19. Thanks Grant, I do the same thing. I'll over look something for a while because the car isn't my style but I really should look at all of them.
  20. Thank you everyone for the compliments & feedback. I really appreciate it, it makes me want to keep going forward with it & not just shoving it back into the box. Hi Alan, thanks for digging out all those parts and taking the picture for me. It looks like that is the way I'm going to go with the wheels on this thing. I'm sure I'll be able to find a set somewhere around here. $25 is nuts to mail something like that but I appreciate the thought. As for getting it around Easter, I'll probably still be working on it by then at this rate.? Thanks again, Mark
  21. I haven't had a lot of time to work on this lately, I've been busy fixing the broken dryer, lawn mower and everything else that happened last week. I did manage to squeeze in enough time to get the top about done. I shortened the overhang of the windshield too, like "espo" said it was a little too much. It still needs the inside finished but it looks like a roof now. The car to me is starting to look a little like the picture.
  22. Thanks guys for the great comments & advice. I've been trying to figure out the wheel situation in the back of my head and you guys are giving great options. I've thought about the T wheels but I think the center is too small & the spokes too long. I could start cutting them to make them look right but I don't know if I want to go down that rabbit hole. Compare that nice Lincoln's wheels too my father's T wheels and you'll see what I mean.
  23. Now that is cool! I'm watching for sure, keep up the great work.
