That's too funny because there is a ton of these trucks around here too that look just like it, but with the frame rotted just about in half right behind the cab. Great job, I love it!

I LOVE IT! Every time I look at it it makes me smile. Thank you for sharing it with us. My new favorite on this site!

For just getting back into the hobby you're off to a great start. Your mods look good and I can't wait to see the finished car. Keep up the great work!

Thanks Roger but like I always say, it's just me doing a lazy paint job. I'm envious of you guys that can pull off these flawless paint jobs. Thanks Carl, I appreciate it. Thanks David, and thanks for following the WIP too. Thanks Mike, There use to be plenty of them around here too but now they've all gone to that big junkyard in the sky. Thank Larry! Thanks Doug, I thought about building a set of chains for it but my eyes & fingers told me I better not.?

Amazing work going on here, I love it. I keep looking at that paint and thinking your going to get finger prints in it because it looks like it's still wet.

I love this build! The hole 3d printing thing is sooo amazing. I wish I could do something like this but I'm completely computer stupid. Like Andy (1930forpick) said, "What about a tow truck boom in the bed? it would give you something else to print up also." That would be cool, and if you need a boom to copy & print I would send you one. It's the wrong scale but maybe you could change it to the right scale. I don't know how it all works, or if that it even possible. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send it out. Anyway great job and I can't wait to see more. Oh, and here's a pic of the tow boom.

Amazing job! I'm always in awe of your builds. I watched it come together and wanted to comment but everything I had to say was already said.

When I was a kid my father had a small junkyard of about 100 old cars & trucks. He bought and sold constantly so we never had anything for too long. After my Grandmother died in 1976 we used her old house (it was on the same property) as storage for car parts and antiques. We went to a car show/flea market every weekend and sold car parts, antiques and any other old stuff laying around. We went all over N.Y. N.J. C.T. P.A. & V.T. sometimes spending a week at a time for the big ones "Hershey & Carlisle". At the shows we had a board with pictures of cars for sale and he put adds in Old Car Weekly and Hemmings. It was a blast as a kid, my sister and I had an old Suburban full of hub caps and we would bring 2 huge military mail bags full and sell them for $2.00 each so we both got a buck. Sometimes we would make good money and I would always blow mine on models or Hot Wheels. Anyway, the other day I was at my parents house and picked up an old photo album that had some pictures of the old house and a bunch of the cars we had. I thought it would be cool to share just a few of them with you but remember these are pictures of pictures so they're not the greatest quality. I wont overload you with pics now but there are a lot more. If anyone else had some cool cars around when you were a kid, post them here too. I'd love to see them. The last 2 pics are of 2 of mine when I was about 17.

It's looking pretty good there Bob. I tried to build one of these kits back in the 80s and it didn't go very well at all. I'm glad to see you back, I was watching this and your other builds on your youtube channel on your little break from here. Pretty cool stuff, keep it going!

I built this old Dodge truck in the 1990s and rebuilt it last year. It's funny, I put a big dent in the door way back when and when I rebuilt it I took most of the dent back out it was just way too big. The Junkyard Dog Mack behind it I built when it came out in 1986 and it still sits the same way, maybe missing a part or two over the years. I can't bring myself to rebuild the Mack, it's a reminder of my model building youth.

Not much of an update but I did get most of the weathering finished on the cab and added some wires and stuff to the firewall, it just looked way too empty. Nothing fancy or accurate but something to fill the void. I painted most of the molded in stuff under the hood and still have to weather it all too. I'm still not happy with the flatbed so I might toss it and build a step side for it. Again, this was supposed to be a quick build.? Maybe the next one, NOT!
