What was your first model car?
mchook replied to Kit Karson's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was probably 8 or 9 and my parents got this in a box lot at an auction. It got me hooked. Monogram 32 roadster. -
Thanks Jeff, I used a thin wire that I squeezed with the tip of some needle nosed pliers a little at a time. It gave it that tack weld look, then I just glued it in place.

Thanks! Thanks Kit! Thanks Sam! My father had one that would run 60mph and he always said he didn't dare going any faster for that reason. Going fast is fun but being able to stop is a necessity.? Thanks Dennis Thank you Tim, I appreciate it.

Thanks guys! It's been a while since I had time to work on this & take pictures but I did manage to get a few things done. The chassis is almost complete and the body is painted. I'm going for a Race of Gentlemen look.

Do you also have 1:1 project cars?
mchook replied to ctruss53's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Here is what I've been working on lately. Putting floors in my 70 Charger, putting power steering in the 60 f100, getting the 23 T running & driving after sitting for a few years, the 49 F1 needs EVERYTHING, I have to build a speedster body for the 26 T and just bought a full front end rebuild kit for the 79 Ranchero. And I wonder why I don't have time for building models... -

This is your first time doing this kind of weathering? Great job! If you sanded through some of the red oxide just decant a little, thin it and brush it on the bare spots, that's what I do. Keep up the great work!
