  1. I know it's not for everyone but I figured I'd use some of this Coca Cola stuff. This part of it is getting closer to being done. It will get a surprise trailer for it next. Can you guess what it will be hauling?
  2. Thanks Gary! Thanks Lou. I know what you mean about those Windshield posts, I wish I had thinned them out everytime I look at it. Well, too late now. Thanks Noel, I noticed those similarities too. Thanks Joe, I'm sure I'll get some people booing me over the next pics with the decals, but it will be cool when it's ALL finished.
  3. Getting close to 1/2 way finished. It will get a surprise trailer for it next. Can you guess what it will be hauling?
  4. I pretty much use the Sophisticated Finishes Rust Antiquing stuff, Vallejo rust stain and streaking paints and tamiya weathering powders. The best way to do it is just start playing with it all and see what works for you and looks good to you. Most of all have fun with it and don't worry about mistakes, it's supposed to look bad.
  5. Thanks everyone! I managed to make a back door & hinge for this thing and got some paint on it too.
  6. Great looking wrecker. I see red & white paint. Does that mean we'll see some Texaco decals on those doors? I can't wait to see it come together.
  7. I got some of the Model A engine done. Looks like the plug wires will have to over the bars but that's ok.
  8. Thanks guys for the comments. I did manage to get some of the engine done. I can't put the plug wires on the plugs until it's all together because they go over the handlebars. I built a radiator for it and boxed in the back just big enough to fit a couple cases of Coke. I've had a tough time stripping the chrome, usually my oven cleaner does it quick but lately I haven't had much luck with it. It doesn't seem to work on the newer kits, anyone got a better idea please let me know.
  9. I had that in my watch list and thought about bidding on it. I wasn't home when it ended so I missed out. I'm glad to see it found a good home.
  10. Primer is on to show me how bad it is. Lots of work ahead of me.
  11. Since I can't seem to finish anything lately, I would say 1. Yup, 1 is too many.
  12. I got one of these from Ollies and really didn't want or need it, but it's a cheap model, so you know you HAVE TO BUY IT. I liked that it was a T style body but it looks a little too cartoonish to me so I figured a C cab would look better. I couldn't leave the engine alone either so I went for an old Model A Ford instead because, well why not. Here's what I got mocked up so far.
  13. One of my favorites...
  14. Any updates? I'm loving this thread.
  15. Looks great, I hope to see more soon.
  16. Great job on the weathering! Nicely done model, thanks for sharing.
  17. I just want to say thank you to everyone who "reacted" to this post too. THANK YOU!
  18. My take on the Milk Trike. Using a Model A Ford engine & turning into a c bab, hopefully.
  19. Thanks again guys. Definitely a good slump buster, because I haven't really been doing anything model related in a while.
  20. Thanks everyone for all the great comments. It's funny, when I built this, I was looking at it as junk first then restored but it makes more sense the way everyone is seeing it. I guess I'm just used to being around junk more than nice cars.
  21. Just a quick curb side build. I built this for a local car club to raffle off at their next show. I couldn't figure out if I wanted to build one of my usual weathered builds or something nice, so I did both on one kit. I'm sure this has been done before but it's a first for me. It was a fast fun build.
  22. That's what I did with my old built up 60 & 63 ford trucks. I had 3 60s & 2 63s, I got enough out of them to buy a bunch of these wreckers.
  23. Rhinebeck NY car show Saturday finds. Nothing over $5.
