  1. Great looking Generals there, I never knew those wheels were in the 69 Riviera... I've never had the kit, nice to know. I've always got them from the Ecklers corvette and the early Off Road Ford Currier. I looked up a review on the Buick and there they were... nice! Here is a shot from the review. You know? the model has been done over and over but each one is a little different and that is why I wanted to gather them all up here to see the differences. Defiantly inspiration for sure...
  2. The AMT 67- 68 camaro c-pillar gets the best results if you're doing a 67 4door hard top. In comparison I guess the Rivera is the best option for the 65-66. I can't think of a better solution.
  3. I've heard the "Wake up call" and I'm back to work on the service truck. I've got some surprise plans for the truck that wont be shown until the final reveal but as for now this is how it looks. I've finished the weathering and most of the interior. I had 4 choices for the wheels but have narrowed down which ones I'm gonna go with. I think air ride and "in the weeds" with big brakes is the look I'm leaning towards. Anyways, I'll be back...
  4. Sad GL story... In 2000 this car was restored completly on a rotisserie... two years later it was involved in a drunk driving accident where the fire dept used the jaws of life to cut the roof off to get the drunk out. (according to the story, the rescue team believed the doors were welded shut) Fast forward 15 years later and this is what is left... I've been studying the car and I think I'm gonna build the model of it. Sorry for the depressing images, but this is a reminder that we shouldn't drink and drive.
  5. That is one beautiful paint job! I remember when this truck was first anounced, and the general consensus was that you'd only be able to build it one way (as the Foose ford) Boy, were they wrong! This truck is becoming more of the popular kits to build. Builders are gettin more and more creative... I wonder if Chip looks to see what guys have done to his truck?
  6. This looks how a beaten down Dodge should look... Good use of the kit, I have this kit and I was thinking about doing some lite road weathering on it.
  7. This one looks like it's had a hard life... Nice job on the weathering... does it happen to have Pa. plates on it? Lol!
  8. Oh she has before.. I gotta keep the lid tight on my glue so when she knocks it over it wont spill. I'm gettin the hood scoop work done on the black one but I have to admit that I've lost steam on these lately. I've been busy working on the house and yard work. I really need to get back to work on them. Today is a prefect day because it pouring rain. I did some landscaping, mulching, and treeplanting this past weekend, here is the result.
  9. Just got this yesterday... was thinking panther pink for mine. One thing I found puzzling was the highrise intake and breather scoop on the box art. I thought it was funny that pic was chosen instead of the stock engine. The other thing that was interesting was the custom decals. No pic is shown of how they go on. I assume the silver car from the box art have them on it but not one photo. Four photos of various poses of the factory stock car though.... hmmm?
  10. I think it's perfect!
  11. Nice work, the 6cyl makes sense because it's more efficient and practical. Should've been an option in the kit.
  12. Just made it back from the club meet and before I got a chance to take pics a few guys boxed up and left. Here is a pic of what was left on the table. The 39 delivery had a corvette drivetrain so I guess you count that as a corvette? Mine is the blue 72 and the other non-corvettes were just sittin around.
  13. Hey, all those vette annuals are a bit simple but when you can make one look that good you've acheived a high modeling status. I've got the 67 revell big block car to build but I noticed it has sidepipes instead of body exhaust. Is that a 63 to 66 thing? Also I need to figure out what smallblock hood to go with also. One that will work on the revell car... I'm not too experienced with the vettes.
  14. I built the S&H car and I wasn't that inpressed but what I've seen here makes me want to give it a second chance. My local Michaels had one and I thought I'd go get it with this 60% discount coupon I have and low and behold it was already sold. Just my luck, but I'm gonna be on the lookout for it now. I think I'll do it as the blue S&H option Ford offered in 76... my neighbor had one back in the day...
  15. Totally would build the van!
  16. Nice detail on those door panels, Dwayne... your work has made me love the kit even more than before.
  17. I was always Drawing everything from the magizine. I did build one model that was inspired from a K&B feature... maybe you remember it "The VooDoo Child" from the Dec, 89 Monster Truck issue. Based on the Monogram Patty wagon kit. I'm not the only one to build one... I found this on the web. Here is the cover from that issue...
  18. Cartoons Magizine!
  19. I was wondering if anybody would notice that. He reads all my old magazines and the new ones. I subscibed from 85 til 91. Glad it's back!
  20. Here is the Revell 82 vette my son has been working on for the upcoming club challenge. (The Corvette) is the challenge for this month so far he's gettin more done than me. Thanks for looking and I'll be updating with photos from the Club meet also, Come back soon...
  21. I love the stance, what kit are those tires from?
  22. I thought about converting one to a 4 door, and this is fitting because I would like to build the Dude's car. Nice looking build so far. That clean strip thinner isn't harsh on bare plastic?
  23. The front seat has a nice shape Dwayne... The headrests are a nice detail. The seat patterens could easily be added if someone wanted them like in a civilian coupe. I think that St. Louis car must've had the cloth option box checked. I like the extensions on the back seat too, They look how my 2 door trunk conversion back seats looked. You're making some good progress buddy.
  24. More than likely it was the yellow enamel that was used. If I paint anything yellow I always go with basecoat with thin coats allowing 15 minutes between coats. Testors Yellow is thin paint I always thought. Model masters yellow PY3 covers pretty well. Model masters probably has that Ford color too. Looks like more of a pastel yellow to me than the Testors yellow. Modelmasters does alot of factory colors. If you sand it smooth you may be able to get more paint on depending on how thick it is already.
  25. I've given away 90% of everything I've ever built. I don't put any value on my skills. I'm not the best modeler anyway. I packed some filler on so the panels line up better...off to contouring when that dries. I've got an audience here with Casey cat...
