  1. What Auslowe calls a Rockwell is not the same as the A-car dump. The USA military used Rockwells in their 2.5 and 5 ton trucks for many years. The same style (as used in the AMT Autocar Dump kit) was used in many dump trucks of the 60's and 70's including Brockways and Internationals.
  2. Looking for the same style as in the A-Car dump kit, ie, military. Also need 1/25 scale.
  3. Anyone have a source for Rockwell rear axles/suspension? (besides the Autocar dump kit)
  4. Looks Great, Jim! I don't remember that kit....
  5. I'll be interested to see how you do this. I used the Lindberg Dodge chassis, engine and interior for my JF White 3000.
  6. Fonts are near impossible to ID, I suspect they had a guy freehand all the lettering. If you feel like doing a test shot of the door decals, I'd be game.
  7. Long overdue update, lack of progress due to lack of motivation and other things. Cab is fit to chassis and the chassis is ready for paint. Cab needs finish color coat, then some clear. Interior is next, and at some point I have to figure out how to do the door decals. I've been looking for a good clear shot of the door (pre-roll). Even if it's in B&W I can add the colors. So far, I haven't found anything. Artwork from the studio would be great but not likely I'll ever see it.
  8. Not much of a restoration, more of a survivor. It was never converted to an RV and only needed some fixing.
  9. From the show 6/27/21: https://pbase.com/baywing/brook21 The Autocar was interesting, haven't seen one with a set back front drive axle. I was told it started life as a mixer and then as a house mover.
  10. I know the brothers that have the blue one, see it a couple of times a year at shows. The paint would be tough..... https://pbase.com/baywing/image/171720536.jpg
  11. Looking to build a Western Star COE. The closest cab I can find is a White Road Commander. I'm not sure what the differences are, seems like the lower cab is different and it appears that the area around the windshield is also different. Wondering if anyone has looked at this?
  12. I ordered some bulldozer parts from them last fall. Website said in stock but also said 2 weeks to make. I think it was 3-4 months later I contacted them asking what the hold up was. I never got a reply but the order did show up a couple of weeks later. Most of the resin casters have been having supply issues, the resin they cast with is in short supply so that could be a part of it. Dave at AITM put up a banner on his website as have a few others. Good luck, I think you'll see the stuff eventually. I know I probably won't order anything from them again unless I really need it and am willing to wait 3-4 months to get it.
  13. Last count I heard was just over 900 trucks in attendance. Photos of some of them: https://pbase.com/baywing/mac21
  14. A few shots from the truck show this past weekend in Bethlehem, CT: https://pbase.com/baywing/beth21
  15. Still looks great. I have mine that I built around the same time, maybe a little earlier. Like yours, mine has survived a few moves and still looks good.
  16. This one is done, the second attempt to come:
  17. I'm done, but not happy. As I went to apply the decals to the hood (I had the cab/sleeper done already) I found the mistake.....the Revell KW has a long hood, the prototype DWA Trucking KW has a shorter nose. No going back without a complete re-build which I think would take more time than starting over. I chose the Revell KW because it had battery boxes on each side and the bumper was closer. I'll be doing an AMT KW, already have most of the parts on order. Anyway, my experiment to get the silver-blue stripes is as close as I can get. The decals aren't a true silver. The air cleaner cans came out perfect, but those were base coated with silver paint and top coated with the same blue tint clear as over the decals. I don't think I'm up to masking and shooting the stripes, this paint isn't very good at sticking to the model, it sticks better to the tape, even the low tack stuff. Anyway, I used a sleeper from the AMT kit and if it had a short hood, I'd be satisfied. The first shot is the real one.
  18. Got the STS order today. Not bad, about 9-10 days.
  19. I just realized the Revell kit has a longer hood than the AMT. I used the Revell kit as it had passenger side bat box and tank unlike the AMT. Too late, I'll have to make do. Eventually, I'll use the AMT kit, will need more decals, wheels, tires, etc.
  20. Waiting for parts for other builds (including my 2021 BRBO) I started this build. I've planned this for a while and it will have it's issues. The decals are only available in silver while the truck is silver-blue. I have a plan so we'll see how that works out. kit is the Revell KW but I recycled the sleeper from an old built up AMT KW (so old it has the torsion bar suspension!). I had to shorten the frame 3/4". Chassis is about complete along with the interior. Waiting for the paint to cure before starting the decals. Rear wheels are 2-hole from Jamie along with the drive tires. The real one: https://pbase.com/baywing/image/164335161.jpg Progress:
  21. I've had better experiences but a lot depends on where in Canada. I think it'll work, I have about 3 weeks left, just don't have time to order from Australia which can take 6 weeks or more. I have a plan B I could go to if time gets critical. The good thing is these parts can be put on anytime, nothing else depends on them being in place. It's a tight build anyway, been busy with other things in life and I'm quite behind where I wanted to be. Rain all this weekend will help this build but puts me behind in other areas. I could use a couple extra days each weekend or maybe 2-4 extra hours each day.....
  22. Thanks, that should work!
