  1. Generator housing fresh out of paint. Blue/gray won't take away from the cab color. Gloss will go on the exterior surfaces tomorrow, then the DD 4-71 gets installed permanently. Archer supplied the louvers and the hinges came from Dumas model boats. Top is fit and painted, air cleaner and exhaust to come.
  2. I'd leave the dent if it looks realistic. Logging trucks were full of them. When I built my Mack B815 logger last year I took chucks out of the tires, etc.
  3. Good colors, I can usually built a stock kit in 24 hrs, it's the paint that's the problem.
  4. Very well done. Is Gary making the dump bodies again?
  5. Flat bed is out of paint and on the chassis. Just waiting on parts to finish the generator and start on the light.
  6. That wing window looks off kilter...
  7. I've always thought it's easier to remove material than add it!
  8. Yep, those old WW2 era searchlights pull a lot of juice, will make that ol' 4-71 scream!
  9. More work on the generator housing. Radiator has a slight front tilt (to help keep the rain out). Waiting on parts to continue....
  10. Thanks, I am looking for something ready to use. I can't do the photoetched stuff, eyes aren't what they used to be let alone the fingers.
  11. Does anyone have a source for scale big truck door hinges? I need to find some working piano hinges in scale. Thanks!
  12. I got mine from Micro Mark last year for the Mack logger.
  13. Making progress on the generator, Detroit 4-71 from Gary Wallace via Jamie. Genset from scratch along with the frame. I have the radiator, air cleaner and exhaust. Radiator gets mounted next.
  14. Not sure about this beast but I had to move one similar at NJDOT years ago, was a 1960's vintage International with the blower on the front and second engine on the flatbed. IIRC, it was air pressure that raised the blower assembly for travel as she had to build air pressure after I started her before I could lift the blower. The one I moved didn't need the aux engine running in order to lift the blower, ran off the main engine. The blower itself ran off of hydraulics, the hydro pump was on the aux engine.
  15. Amazing work. You need the chains, you haven't lived 'till you've made a set! I did once, never again!
  16. Amazing, the weathering is spot-on!
  17. One step ahead of you, already had some parts ideas before I started!
  18. Basic cab is complete, not sure what happened to the right fender, seems like it twisted a bit after paint. Didn't notice until the bumper went on. Working on the bed and the engine/generator then on to the light. Waiting on parts from Oz.
  19. The trailer is well along, the ICC bar needs another coat of color then gets installed. Tie down straps arrived from England yesterday and parts have been ordered for the anchors. Wheels and tires on order from Jamie, mudflaps are done just need to get the tires on before mounting them. Waiting to hear from the mill regarding the materials for the load.
  20. Not me, seems fair. Beats $300-350 for the original if you can find one. The improvements sound great.
  21. From a post on Jamie's FB page: Call me Tim The Keeper of Secrets. I've been keeping this one since early fall 2019. Round2 will be issuing a 1/25th scale International Transtar CO4070A model kit. This is not a direct reissue of the 1973 Ertl kit #8000 as those molds/tools are long gone. It's not a re-pop or a re-issue. The new version of the Transtar CO4070A cabover is a 100% NEW TOOL. Round2 using my original Ertl #8000 kit had it 3D scanned to create CAD drawings so that the kit could be reworked and created again. Each part had to be removed from the sprues and scanned. The NEW TOOL will feature new parts layout, a new chrome tree with different chrome parts than the original. Some shapes that the original kit didn't capture or didn't fit as well as they should have been corrected. Round2's design and creative guys have been working on this for months and months with the 1st test shots being run 2 months ago. After sorting out issues and trouble spots and corrections made, another run of test shots were just made with more tweaking and subtle fixes to be made before the final release of the kit which Round2 is hoping will be late spring. I've been knee-deep in this from the beginning and am extremely pleased that Round2 has brought this to fruition. Here are some of the subtle changes you will see in the Round2 NEW TOOL AMT branded International Transtar CO4070A: 1 color plastic (no red plastic to cause paint issues) New parts layout. Cleaner molding parting seams. Non-chromed 5th wheel. Non-chromed spoke wheels. Non-chromed air cleaner piping. Non-chromed manifold and lower exhaust pipes. Air horn shape corrected with open trumpet ends - no more flat end with large visible seam. Right hand step reworked to clear the tire. Front axle placement adjusted to clear battery box. Front axle track-width narrowed so the tires sit under the cab properly. Optional chrome plated 10-hole Alcoa Front Runner steer wheels 1 piece vinyl tires Separately molded windshield A-pillar wind deflectors. Round2's art department will be producing a new instruction booklet, new decals and new box art (in the flavor and style of the original kit). You won't be disappointed with this NEW TOOL kit. It builds as easily if not easier that the 1973 Ertl original. I built this test shot on Tuesday. This is a great time to be a truck modeler! Tim
  22. Well, the squirrels are getting itchy, once the load straps come in, I'll have to make the tie downs for the trailer. The screen for the "protector" on the front of the trailer arrived so I can start on that. I need to figure out the load, looks like RR ties but they seem a little small, might be landscape timbers.
  23. Might be better if you didn't......you'll be buying the AITM Rubber Duck Mack, the trailer from Keystone and then there is Pig Pen's Mack, Spider Mike's Diamond T....etc etc.
