  1. Spraying Testors One Coat Lacquers, got a dried silver paint flake about this size (*) under the clear coat. I sprayed three light coats of clear. I will have to sand through the clear to hopefully release the paint flake. I have a full complement of sanding pads and sanding cloths. I could use some guidance on what grit to use to cut through the clear coat without causing me too much paint rework. I'm not all that experienced polishing paint, help is appreciated. Thanks for reading!

  5. Tamiya offers a 2-part putty. It seems hard to find here in the States. Might have to look overseas for it.

  7. Just today I picked up some embossing powder at Michael's craft store. They do offer shipping as well. I've used flocking in the past, and haven't been happy with the results. After seeing what can be done with embossing powder, I am switching!

  11. Thank you for posting the photos, much appreciated. They are some fine looking engine compartments. i found some Duplicolor engine enamel at work and did a quick test. I sprayed a plastic bottle and was pleased with the results. I'm pretty well sold on Duplicolor enamels. Thanks for the help, Bill.

  20. Tamiya has three oranges that look close. I figure two out of the three should cover the range. But which two?
  21. Can anyone recommend by number (ex. TS-31) which Tamiya spray lacquer color is best for Hemi engines? I want to use this specific paint brand/style. No enamels, no metallics as V2 Orange is. Thanks for your help!
  22. The fish-eye gremlins came to town this weekend. My first paint job in years, and there they were! Not very noticeable, but frustrating nonetheless.

  24. Excellent engine compartment. There's some really nice detail work in there.
  25. Another great HOK paint job from you, Jim. I really like those exhaust tips. Big fan of huge angle cut tips.
