  1. Both are spot-on, Randy. I really like 'em.
  2. That's two spotless Oldsmobiles, Randy. The convertible sits just right. Did you have to tweak the suspension or is that out of the box?
  3. That is my experience as well. I have a '70 Bonneville hardtop from TM. Minor flaws but very crisp on the details and no warp. Certainly up to the standard of the donor kit. Awaiting your review, thinking of getting one of his Mopars before they run out.
  4. Seeing that scratch building skill is indeed humbling. I also consider it a privilege to view the work of those truly gifted builders.
  5. You're welcome, Tom. I enjoyed reading through the scratch building thread to find the info.
  6. Tom, Is this what you were looking for? http://www.scalemotorcars.com/forum/classics-and-vintage/24503-article-scratch-built-stock-ford-model-1-8-th-scale-21.html?highlight=#post108817
  7. I'm completely sober and I agree with you Steve. I'm just totally stuck on third-gen Birds and have been for ages.
  8. Took tomorrow off, so today is my Friday. Hoping to get some model building in, among other things.
  9. Russ, Here's a link to the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7jwhy7neaI
  10. I order my sets straight from Japan via ebay. Very reasonable shipping costs and times. Have also used Hobbylink Japan directly without problems. At times it's difficult to tell which Aoshima sets are stanced by looking at the box. ELP Modeling has a number of Youtube videos depicting what the wheel sets look like. They unbox the wheels and often show what they look like on a model. Type "Aoshima wheel review" in the Youtube search box and ELP's videos will show up. Very helpful info.
  11. Clearly Scale offers tires like that. Also neat upgrade parts for the Revell Golf. (clearlyscale.com)
  12. Nicely done! Or re-done as it were.
  13. All-around superb! That purple is just great.
  14. I was wondering how you made out on the '73 GTO. What's the best donor kit? How do I go about getting one of your GTOs, Larry?
  15. My plan for my Buick is a street-strip car. Fireball drag radials, headers, Forward Resin Daisy mags. Nothing too outlandish, just a healthy, lightly updated musclecar. I do believe there are some vinyl top tutorials around on the internet. I'm sure one of them would list the size of styrene strip needed for trim. Perhaps flat black paint sprayed from a distance would work for you instead of the fabric. You could just leave the seam line and forget about it. We don't want it going back in the box unfinished again.
  16. I have a preference myself, but I won't cloud your decision process. I'll be watching for progress
  17. Any thoughts on where you're going with it? Wheels etc?
  18. Looks very good! The paint turned out terrific.
  19. Hope you keep going. Haven't seen one of these built in a while.
  20. Just to be clear, there is a horrible grille in some AMT GTX kits. There is the so-so grille from Hart's and some AMT GTX kits. The Holy Grail of GTX grilles is the JoHan in gtx6970's photos. Do I have that right? Apologies to the OP for dragging his thread off topic.
  21. Thanks for clearing that up. To be fair to Hart's Parts, neither of their AMT GTX grilles are labeled as JoHan related. I thought perhaps the GTX grille was a more correct option. Your photos show that not to be the case.
  22. That is an outstanding diorama! Everything is so well done. You have a gifted eye for detail.
  23. Hart's does have a '69 GTX grille for the AMT kit. In Hart's words it is "correct" for the GTX convertible and I'd assume for the hardtop as well. More informed eyes than mine will have to determine the grille's viability. If you do check the grille out Snake, let me know what you think of it. I'm always looking to expand my mental library of aftermarket references.
