Sharpening sprue cutters etc...
Dodge Driver replied to aurfalien's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I've been sharpening my own tools and implements for 30 plus years. You have shown me I have much more to learn in that area. The knowledge base on this forum is quite expansive. I discover something new practically every day! -
I've seen this kit as well. Going by the box art, LHD parts are included in it.

I was surprised to to see a second pass with the laser alone after the filler rod was welded on. Laser welding with filler rod was a new one for me after 22 years in cutting tool manufacture.

I've been wanting an XJS kit since seeing a completed Jag on the forum. I seem to recall that the Hasegawa XJS is a good kit. Opinions are appreciated!

Interesting how injection molds are repaired through welding. Perhaps those of us that enjoy restored kit re-issues will appreciate this.

Round 2 August 2017 Product Spotlight
Dodge Driver replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Thanks for the info Rob. I'm going to have to pick up that '83 when it comes out. I prefer solid-roof cars myself. However, I'm grudgingly come to accept t-tops in the 1:1 world in order to advance my Firebird project. -

I too am puzzled as to the genesis of the '83 Camaro. I have an MPC '83 Camaro promo and an AMT Heritage Edition Z28 kit. Both are very similar in design. Is this re-issue different (better?) than what I'm currently familiar with? -
Your Caddy has an impressive "presence". Massive but not bulky at all. Great color choice too!

A little update on my '85 TransAm project
Dodge Driver replied to Can-Con's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I'm happy for you Steve! Glad to see the forward progress -
Mark, the texture of your parts is always spot-on. There aren't enough superlatives in my vocabulary to describe your work accurately!

Well thought out and excellent fit-and-finish!

UPDATED 8/11! What Would You Pay for a New 1/25 '64 Chev Nova SS?
Dodge Driver replied to Snake45's topic in Diecast Corner
I'm always looking for new ways to start unrequited projects Actually, once I find the right tires befitting a big sedan, I plan to turn a Greenlight Bluesmobile into a de-commissioned police car. -

For sure! My first car was a '75 Buick Century. Not a performance car, but I love that body stye. -
Round 2 August 2017 Product Spotlight
Dodge Driver replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Call me crazy, but those smogger '74-'76 T/A's (along with GM's Colonnade cars of that era) are some of the kits I'd most like to see! -
Round 2 August 2017 Product Spotlight

Bill, it sure would be nice if some of those 1/64 scale subjects ( hello '65 Barracuda and '75 T/A) made it into 1/25 scale kits -
I happened to find Harry P.'s comments on this subject. I think they're worth repeating... Harry P. MCM Ohana Members 29,071 posts Location:NW suburban Chicago Full Name:A mere layman... I don't mean to bash Revell, but in my opinion, if the product you're selling is supposed to be an accurate scale model of a full scale car, your scale model should be just that: an accurate depiction of the real thing. There's no excuse for marketing a kit that's this bad. I understand business and monetary decisions played a part in this, but as a potential end-user of this product, I expect better. The point isn't that I could fix it and make it right...the point is, it should have been right in the first place. That goes for any model, not just this one. I'm not a big fan of the "just be glad we have a model of (fill in the blank) at all" school of thought. Just my 2 cents...

Testors laquers work very well, Pat. I'm no great painter, but have gotten good results with them straight from the can.

Really sharp! I certainly like the changes you made to your Eldo. A couple cans of Purple-Licious are now a must-have for me

That Nova appears to have real potential. I wouldn't mind seeing a few pre/post photos of it . -
