  1. Add me to the list of warped body owners. I have seen the video and read the comments regarding body warp. I took a chance and ordered a Belvedere last week. As soon as I opened the shipping box, I knew I had a warped body. I guess it's hot water and crossed fingers for me.
  2. Sending extra well-wishes to Harry's son and family. They are his support network. Surely they can use a boost as they help Harry. Seems he really needs them now.
  3. Hey Chris! My manifold from Ron via Shapeways came today. I'm going to try to photograph it and my modded manifold and get a pic up soon. Stay tuned!
  4. Pure clickbait. Just ignore it!
  5. I really like your Road Runner, Jim! B-body Mopars are my all-time favorites and I'm happy to include this one on my favorites list! I'm working on the same kit, but as usual I have gotten carried away! Gotta use your 'Runner as motivation to get it done.
  6. Fine addition to your Mopar paddock!
  7. I found a different photo of the cart and it's a stand alone creation, not a derivative of the odometer. I was wrong about that.
  8. It looks to be a variation of Leonardo's odometer, from his drawings of a cart designed to measure distances.http://www.leonardo-da-vinci-models.com/da-Vinci-Models-Odometer-p2.jpg
  9. Let us know how you make out. It's so frustrating to be set back by unexpected problems. Hope it all works out for you.
  10. Steve, is that Alclad on the trans in the photo? Looks like a very accurate finish to me.
  11. He was Armenian, as memory serves. A success story from humble beginnings, I believe.
  12. Looks like it could be an attempt to re-create "Dow 7", a goldish finish for magnesium. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/what-color-paint-to-use-to-match-dow-7-coating.235753/ If you scroll down toward the bottom of the page, a poster lists his spray can 'recipe' and photos of his results.
  13. This happened to me using Krylon Maxx white primer on two different kit plastics. I stopped using the Maxx and switched to Plastikote white primer. I don't know what happened, but I won't use Maxx on kit plastic again. I generally don't have good luck with Krylon general purpose spray paints on plastic. Homeshades primer from Walmart is the most fool-proof spray primer I have used.
  14. That's one fine looking Dodge! That Lindberg chassis really pumps up the underside's realism.
  15. Great color choice! The wheels look super as well.
  16. It's a welcome sight to see a new tooling kit from Round 2. I'm willing to buy a few more re-issues to advance a broader range of future new-tool kits.
  17. Our area seems to like Challengers over Camaros at least 4 to 1, Bill. I drive past a Chevy dealership 5 days a week. The new Camaros languish unsold for months. The same dealer had a used SRT Challenger on the lot for 2 days and it was sold!

    My 2016

Excellent variety in subject matter. The Motor City Barracuda is especially cool as is the '49 Merc.
  19. I understand. Building what you like with what you have on hand is a is good ability to have. You've written that you love building models and that's the most important thing!
  20. Whatever method you choose, give your tires a good soap and water wash beforehand. I'm convinced there's a great deal of mold release on tires out of the box. Treat 'em like any other kit part you're going to paint.
  21. You're really getting the hang of painting your bodies. The finish has turned out well on your last few cars. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you're stumped by a problem. Plenty of good people here who can point you in the right direction.
  22. That paint really pops in the sunlight! Nice going!
  23. I like what you did here! Now it's got my mental wheels turning, dreaming up ideas of my own.
  24. I agree on the stance change. Raise the nose some, and as Bill suggested upthread, a larger diameter front wheel/tire combo to fill the fenderwell. As for power, this intrigues me...http://www.clearlyscale.com/product/gm-ls-v12-tremec-6060-engine-set
  25. Forget the tools! Keep him away from the hallucinogens!
