Superb colour, which suits the car perfectly.

Hi Robert.... I cannot value this kit for you, but one was sold on Ebay one week ago, missing some parts, for only $20.50 - Not sure if this is a typical price, which I realise does not help you, but if it was me I would probably rather build the Ferrari rather than keep it in the box..... that's just me! Renwal Ferrari 275GTB 1/12 Scale Model Kit See original listing Condition: Used “Missing some parts” Ended: Feb 27, 2018 , 5:00AM Winning bid: US $20.50 [ 2 bids ] Shipping: $46.07 International Priority Shipping to United Kingdom via the Global Shipping Program Item location: Rockwell, North Carolina, United States

This arrived in the post today.... a second (green) Tamiya Morgan to go with my (yellow) Tamiya Morgan. Green one is for restoration, no wheels apart from the spare on the boot lid and £10 GBP on Ebay. Quite a good paint job on the green one so I won't need to repaint it. Got some chrome wire spoked wheels ready to go on the car, from a Tamiya Jaguar MK II. David

Good luck with the plants Joe, and it has been a headache for me to include a tree in my diorama, which has recently been removed. Couldn't find any web sites that could supply a good 1:24 scale tree of a decent size.... say 15 inches tall. Attempts to make one myself have not been successful really. I did seriously consider a real plant growing from a container that is hidden from view, the container that is, not the plant. Something like a Bonsai ? ( expensive ). David

Thank you Anders, and I will have some new photos ready soon ! David

# Last Car Built in Hamtramck #
Anglia105E replied to 1972coronet's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Nice looking car, and the very last Dodge too. David -
This Blockbuster video diorama is so good..... you have really pulled it off there David.... Great work! David

Your engine build is coming together really well Pat, and you must be pleased with the result so far. It is worth the effort and the attention to detail. Liking the whole thing. ( thanks also to Tom for your comments on the resin Rolls-Royce ) David

The colour scheme really suits the Chevy '57 Bel Air and you have a very nice build there Anders. David

The door... the door handle..... the decals....... fantastic! That is how to do it properly. David
-
Thank you Ken...... and I think the Hooper & Co building is finished now, so it's down to the cars themselves, the figures and then on to the advanced photography. David

Here is the photo that refused to upload previously.... David

Yes Pat it is..... or at least some of the photos do show the resin cast Silver Cloud, which is airbrushed in cellulose Rolls-Royce Smoke Green as was the original 1959 motor car, the last Silver Cloud 1 ever produced by the factory. My model has a resin cast chassis also. Here is a photo for you. David

Perfect way to display a bad kit as others have said, and I like the way you have captured the scene in a very small area of diorama. Kurt the diorama Master ! David

What you have achieved within such a small area of that diorama is marvellous. The vehicle, the terrain, the figures and the accessories all look good and your attention to detail is to be admired. Thanks for showing it to us and those awards are well deserved. David

Well, to say that is your first casting Pat, it has turned out really good. The casting looks better than the original and your clay mould is brilliant. Like you I find moulding and casting very interesting, but the chemicals in the resin scare me. Just shows what you can make yourself. Engines and engine parts are an ideal subject for casting and when you get onto body shells and chassis it becomes even more satisfying. My feeling when I produced a two part mould for a 1:24 scale Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud was beyond words, and the resulting resin body shell that came out of that mould made me think.... did I do that ? Thanks unclescott58 for the information regarding '53 and '54 Corvettes, and that is unusual for a factory to produce a car in one colour only for a year.... unless it was black in earlier days I suppose! David

Here are a few photos of current work in progress on the Hooper & Co diorama. The top two floors of the building now have the same type of windows, which look much better. Also, and this is early days yet, there is the addition of a projected image that can be displayed on the white screen alongside the building and at the end of St James's Street. By using a mini projector I can display moving or still images from the 1950's street scenes in London, either in colour or black and white. The most difficult aspect of this feature is getting the perspective absolutely right, which applies to not only the precise positioning of the camera but also the positioning of the projector. Lighting is crucial to make this work, especially as the projector is LCD / LED lighting which produces the usual blue element. As well as the video footage from British Pathe and YouTube, some of the movies have audio too. As always.... thanks for looking guys. David

I do like the look of this build, and the early Corvette has a nicer feel to it than the later ones in my opinion, although I am biased towards 1950's motor cars anyway. The white paint finish seems a good choice for the model. I didn't realise there was a 6 cylinder version of this car, I thought they were all V8's. Considering you have built the model as it comes out of the box the quality and contents of this AMT kit is very good. David

Greetings...From Snowy Victoria BC
Anglia105E replied to Bill M's topic in Welcome! Introduce Yourself
Welcome to Model Cars Magazine forum Bill..... I myself have done a lot of research connected with the Victoria BC area of Canada while building 1:24 scale Rolls-Royce model cars, mainly because one of my models is based upon the real motor car as owned by Margaret L. Sayward-Wilson in the late 1950's. Would love to find further information about this particular Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud that has a ong and complicated history. Enjoy everything that you find on here. David J. Watson ( England ) -
Yes but I'm only 64 David..... who's gonna take me to see the film? David
-
Brilliant thinking on your part David, and although I have never seen that car before.... now I want one! David
-
I had a feeling that you had done that intentionally, and the humor is so subtle that it went over my head ! Nice one. David
-
That's gonna be a mean '56 Ford I reckon Joe! Not wanting to be critical, 'cos your work is brilliant, but the sign over the door says ' NO EXCETIONS ' - shouldn't it be No Exceptions ? Inside of your building does look complete now, so it makes sense for you to work on the build of the car while you are waiting for funds to continue with the outside. David

1967 Pontiac Bonneville, More Mediocre Pics.
Anglia105E replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in Model Cars
Very nice Pontiac build Steven, especially the engine detail, which looks exceptional. As you say, it will be interesting to see the Purple Mist paint colour outdoors in natural daylight. I have found that the Rolls-Royce colour Velvet Green, and also Rolls-Royce Midnight Blue appears to be black in most lighting conditions, and that seems to be true of Pontiac Purple Mist but once you get the car out in sunlight the true colour shines through.
