  1. Seatbelt, schmeatbelt... I don't usually bother, I know, I'm getting lazy in my olde age...although, gaffers tape works pretty well for seatbelt material, it's got the weave, it's black and it sticks to the seat-RRR
  2. yeah, more ideas than time.... -RRR
  3. Thanks, Claude! -RRR
  4. Here's another idea that has been kicking around in my cranium for decades. I got started pulling parts the other day and it demanded to be built. The base is the old Revell Miss Deal (or should I say Ms. Deal?) body. I've always liked the Revellion kit, a Dodge body with the frame from one of the Tony Nancy kits. This is a 'version' of that using the Miss Deal and the frame from the Attempt I kit. The frame is similar to the Mooneyes frame with a narrower roll cage.... Here's the 'yard sale' of parts... The engine of choice is a Hemi from the Cosmic Charger kit using the optional Potvin front mounted blower (chrome parts on the tree on the bottom right). The first order of business is to close up the blower hole in the hood and attach the hood to the body. The hood doesn't fit very well at the front. I filled in the gaps with some thin strips of styrene, some putty and massaging will be needed here... Of course a chop is in order. I'm using this old yellow painted clapped out frame for mock up purposes. I have a fresh one for final use. While the roof is off, I cut out the hole in the trunk area for the roll cage... About like that? Sure! I decided on some 12 spoke front wheels from the Slingster kit that I had aftermarket chrome plated a while ago...thanks to ADL for the suggestion. The chop is completed. I cut in the front fender area with a piece from another Ms. Deal body to fill that hole. The headlight covers are from the AMT '53 Studebaker kit...next up is a front air dam...more to follow. Thanks for looking. -RRR
  5. You're right. I can see that the door panels have a lip that will go behind the seat. I bet they're going to delete the Rat Roaster upholstered back panel. -RRR
  6. The kit and original car was a mish-mash of conflicting styles and ideas, but it was a good source of parts! -RRR
  7. It appears the interior panels and seat are from the original '32 roadster release. Yes, the Duvall is way kool and I agree on the chopped windshield. (please keep it). If they tool up for the duvall, they will most likely fill in the indents on the cowl for the windshield posts? That would preclude the inclusion of the chopped windshield? All of this conjecture.... -RRR
  8. I love it, nice six-shooter!!! -RRR
  9. Out of all of that, and there is a LOT, the Duvall windshield is the most interesting item to me. It's great to see they are brining back a modified version of the Rat Roaster. That shows you where my head is at! -RRR
  10. YIKES!!! https://www.ebay.com/itm/184584630977?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item2afa19f2c1:g:xjQAAOSwqBFf27tu&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAACkPYe5NmHp%2B2JMhMi7yxGiTJkPrKr5t53CooMSQt2orsS7UXID%2BRPOSNsnm8kYPghtGSY%2FMst%2F%2F%2FZFNDElO3hnb4bQkFT8hPrlyxcEf9R9lzq3s1sqWyraJmiEVeu%2FLq1ahV41jsqusH6OZAAkhWm1eiaTz%2BJ%2Fq8jU1%2FBvgNN3kXtj47m8ulmaEQFwSQIV%2FOUyvcCbSStSwDeqfznsrusS49mD1V9Qm7oVV1IEvs1Oo25UVX9%2BswTr2kYuY5NFmtPyxSzeHETF1Kpw68oipPbmJM3%2B7YIDk0O5npfjWbg0ATKUWitWiubNFcWPKhCga0d4iVtXfUFzRKaKMCGTnLQY8S%2FdFEzHdjHZnHw9BitafXZDN2IcXyNIGZeFic1fRLsEWfSCZonXQW0rIEc8NqIZUEKcxVuAdW%2F3KDG84an%2FykovjbIW1Sv5yCuSLY2LaetPOah3FsB6ARzqevNM5xtMzrxyr9P6YJzPWo6bcM9bI3cHu8q%2FLdlGmiiuR3i%2BbQvo9tOwHjtuU8kR3LXBHXVbbLILjdq2vOoqty0zCZyUxYiif3lLrZgEPy52Ydtvx6uqPWJa3UfM9E9SrizPHhdjrbDP9qD%2BfwF1srdlPPoXW73kiITbDdixsG%2BosvMceQmLm6fhZVNL%2BuOvB0ytCMz0wUCsmNlqd%2Bf14KRNP2ZSyIPtYn9s6VSmxTBSZNcjLL5ibcYwBnjnHTxFcvZE8bc4RMReCBo27lfAizpAQieyRYfDhgZXxNpxrphnnIAYEwIICjRDHCqt8AxOthSMKZNIN1a92BzvUOhV1Pgiq9CPqYbC9MJ49tna6MgfY%2F5VLHfCkNTBWftkkRo3kYTonwIPekw2WK1wo9f6SuyDsPKQaNB|ampid%3APL_CLK|clp%3A2334524 It is in mint condition. -RRR
  11. TIM- Do you the parts in the above shown kits? I'd love to see what they have. I've never known of these previously. -RRR
  12. that backdrop diorama is in the box with my original SandKat kit, too. My SandKat kit is in pristine condition (box is a bit beat up, expected) with the carboard pieces all still attached, the chrome parts are all on the tree but the chrome is all dulled with age. Any idea as to when the re-issue will be out? -RRR
  13. I got my cowl induction hood I found on our favorite auction site (no, not Etsy..). The cowl induction piece will be sliced off and grafted onto the '63 hood. Other than that, not much being done this week, yet. -RRR
  14. You're making slow but steady progress, there, KK....Keep on truckin'!!!! -RRR
  15. Ok, as asked and promised.... I have some of these old sand drag kits. The first one is called the "Sandbagger" I think this one is especially kool because it's a rear engine reworking of the Dan Garlits Wynnsjammer chassis and engine. The Sandbagger: box art very similar to the Sand Kat.... above is the cardboard display stand. It's missing one piece of "thrown up" sand...the flag the dude is supposed to be holding is ripped of, but it's in the box. The AMT KAT decal is long gone.... It's a little beat up, some parts glue-bombed together. Two sets of rear tires, desert tires and sand tires.... ------- The Sand Dragon is based on the recently re-issued Wedge dragster. There were a couple different versions, a Mongoose one, and ...I forget.. obviously, this was issued when Lesney (the Matchbox company) from England owned AMT. I'm sure TIM can speak to that... Anyway, some kool blasts from the past....this kit was re-issued within the last couple of years as a limited edition with in cooperation of an on-line hobby shop. I can't remember the name. Thanks for having me jump on here, TIM!! -RRR
  16. I like it! Great idea. Definitely cozy quarters! -RRR
  17. These things are a little TOO goofy for me. I always look to see if there's any usable parts to rob, but it doesn't look like much in this box. Thanks for posting, though! -RRR
  18. Thanks, I will post up when I get a chance, I'm technically 'at work'...shhhhh.....the Sand Dragon was recently re-issued through an online hobby place (can't remember the name). I've never seen the others in the pic on your review. Interesting. For some reason, I've always loved these sand drags, just off-the-wall enough to appeal to me. -RRR
  19. Ha!!! I have one of the original issues, along with the Sand Dragon (same frame as the recently re-issued rear engine Wedge dragster) and I also have one called The Sandbagger that is a rear engine modified version of the Don Garlits Wynnsjammer dragster, for real!!! -RRR Sorry to hijack your thread. TIM....
  20. I like it! -RRR
  21. I figured you'd have this one done by now!! C'mon, man!!! -RRR
  22. the original issue of the '29 roadster came with a Buick Nailhead engine (car in orange on box art, current issue with SBC has black car on box art). -RRR
