Stretched SSR
Rocking Rodney Rat replied to Modlbldr's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
One of my customers won An SSR, a giveaway through a parts distributor he did (does?) business with. I haven't seen him in awhile, but last I saw it, he was using his SSR as a work truck and it was pretty clapped out. He said overall the fit and finish was poor quality and it was a real rattletrap (good ole GM).... -RRR -
Totally rad.... -RRR

does bare metal foil spoil?

It should have an expiration date on it somewhere.... -RRR -
First time using an airbrush??? I don't believe it! I love the paint job, that takes some doing! A nice build of a very finicky kit. I've never been able to get that hood fit, on several tries with this kit and the Thames panel. Bravo!!! -RRR

Nice box stock build, just in time for cruising season! -RRR

Inspiration?
Rocking Rodney Rat replied to Jim B's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My inspiration comes form 1:1 scale hot rods. I'm a frustrated potential real hot rod owner. it's a dream I will never likely realize as the wads of cash needed always seem to go elsewhere (the bank of Mom and Dad). I used to get lots of inspiration from Street Rodder and Rod&Custom magazines, now defunct. I like building hot rods as each one is unique, as creative as the builders' imagination. Fortunately, model car manufacturers provide us with ample fodder for our scale dreams. I'd also like to give a shout out to the aftermarket resin companies, especially Norm Veber at RMCM. Rock on.... -RRR -
Neat, neat, neat! Up to your usual clean standards. All of the parts fit together well and the components compliment them. I'm going to steal your idea of moving the rear suspension mounts to the outside of the crossmember, which facilitates exhaust routing much easier. I might need to add a rear panhard bar. Thanks, buddy!!! -RRR

Gofer Selling Revell Parts Packs?
Rocking Rodney Rat replied to Justin Porter's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Good call, Mark. You're correct. I just took a look at my Scarlet Screamer/Bantam Bomber Double Car Kit and the frame does have the slot for the axle, as well as the small support piece as shown in the Gofer kit, that's not in the original parts pack. Interesting..... -RRR -
Gofer Selling Revell Parts Packs?
Rocking Rodney Rat replied to Justin Porter's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I have posted pix of all of the Revell Parts Packs I have here: https://public.fotki.com/jferren/revell-parts-packs/ It is interesting that the Gofer dragster fame is slightly different than the Revell version. Notice the hole for the rear axle on the Revell frame is a slot on the Gofer frame. https://public.fotki.com/jferren/revell-parts-packs/img-3455.html -RRR -
