C7 Corvette Wide Body, in the style of Forgiato.
ismaelg replied to Peter Lombardo's topic in Model Cars
That's very nicely done! Forgiatos are very popular in the custom C7 camp. -
Beautiful! My uncle had a '67 4 door T-bird in that color combo.

Beautiful! I want to build mine in yellow as well.

What can I do in 24 hours? How about gluing 2 engine halves together? Turned out nice. Now I want to hunt for that kit. Thanks,
-
One would be nice. But all 3 are just stellar! Love the engine detail on #10

Tap Tap.. Hello? Is this thing on? Ohh Hi! Because of the hurricane, this project went into hibernation. It has been a really stubborn project. I lost the love and it is now a personal challenge. I just airbrushed what I hope was the last coat of Gravity colors Corvette Racing Yellow. I've been saying that for the last 5 color coats or so. Once dry, I'll carefully mask and paint the black areas. Taking it very slow with this one. I don't trust it. I know it wants to bite me again.... Thanks, -
Phil! You just stole my heart! Love it! 'Nuff said! I started mine over a decade ago. Now I want to dig it out! Your fault!

Hi, I got the blue car a sibling so you can play and don't feel lonely..... Thanks, -
Hello, A few days after finishing the blue C7 I was able to finish this "simple quick build" I was working in parallel. This is an Arctic White C7 Stingray convertible, NON-Z51, 3LT Adrenaline red interior, J6A black calipers. The scale is 1/24. You can tell the scale differences when next to the 1/25 blue car. Now, before getting any excitement, this is only a glorified toy I took apart, slightly modified for accuracy, repainted and added some details. I stripped the red paint and tightened the gaps in the doors and hood by adding styrene strips. I added seatbelts, other minor details and painted the interior. Body paint is Dupli-Color authentic GM Arctic White lacquer with duplicolor lacquer clear. Unfortunately, most trim details were molded in so they were hard to hand paint. Added brake calipers and rotors. All emblems are extra duplicates I did for the blue car. I'm happy to say I've built a C7 convertible Stingray, my way. Let me know what you think. Thanks,
-
Thanks Richard! That's exactly the reason why I still haven't posted the convertible I just finished. I'll post it under glass anyways today. Thanks,
-
Hello, Unfortunately, the C7 Corvette is not well represented in the plastic scale model world. Only the ill fitting C7R and the simple C7 Stingray snapper. The glue version is not much better than the snap. Maisto has picked up the slack by doing C7 Stingrays, convertibles, the Z06 and what they call a Grand Sport which is the lamest attempt I've seen: Just a Z06 with a GS paint scheme. But that's another story. Back to this one. I picked a Z06. At first glance it doesn't look that bad. Upon close inspection, the paint can use some polishing. It has no brake rotors or calipers and the ride height/wheel position can improve. So I decided to do a little upgrade, without going full blast stripping and repainting. Took it apart and started wet sanding and polishing the body. The black stripe was a casualty but it was not very good anyways. After wet sanding the body, I carefully masked the black hood stripe. Primer was applied before shooting spray can black. Some minor overspray in the door that will easily get out when polishing. Could not get the wheels off so I ended up cutting the axles And that's where we are now. I'm not going crazy in this one. Interior will remain black and probably untouched. Will add brakes, polish it and call it done. Thanks,

It has a modern european tuner vibe to it. Nice!

Very nice! I have that kit in my stash waiting to be built. One of the dream cars of my youth. Thanks,

Thank you all! I appreciate all your comments. I finally finished editing a 3 minute video on this model. I always wanted to do this but it was actually harder than I thought. Let me know what you think of the video. Thanks!
