  6. Excellent! Love all aspects of it!
  7. Hi, I got the blue car a sibling so you can play and don't feel lonely..... Thanks,
  8. Hello, A few days after finishing the blue C7 I was able to finish this "simple quick build" I was working in parallel. This is an Arctic White C7 Stingray convertible, NON-Z51, 3LT Adrenaline red interior, J6A black calipers. The scale is 1/24. You can tell the scale differences when next to the 1/25 blue car. Now, before getting any excitement, this is only a glorified toy I took apart, slightly modified for accuracy, repainted and added some details. I stripped the red paint and tightened the gaps in the doors and hood by adding styrene strips. I added seatbelts, other minor details and painted the interior. Body paint is Dupli-Color authentic GM Arctic White lacquer with duplicolor lacquer clear. Unfortunately, most trim details were molded in so they were hard to hand paint. Added brake calipers and rotors. All emblems are extra duplicates I did for the blue car. I'm happy to say I've built a C7 convertible Stingray, my way. Let me know what you think. Thanks,
  9. Thanks Richard! That's exactly the reason why I still haven't posted the convertible I just finished. I'll post it under glass anyways today. Thanks,
  10. Hello, Unfortunately, the C7 Corvette is not well represented in the plastic scale model world. Only the ill fitting C7R and the simple C7 Stingray snapper. The glue version is not much better than the snap. Maisto has picked up the slack by doing C7 Stingrays, convertibles, the Z06 and what they call a Grand Sport which is the lamest attempt I've seen: Just a Z06 with a GS paint scheme. But that's another story. Back to this one. I picked a Z06. At first glance it doesn't look that bad. Upon close inspection, the paint can use some polishing. It has no brake rotors or calipers and the ride height/wheel position can improve. So I decided to do a little upgrade, without going full blast stripping and repainting. Took it apart and started wet sanding and polishing the body. The black stripe was a casualty but it was not very good anyways. After wet sanding the body, I carefully masked the black hood stripe. Primer was applied before shooting spray can black. Some minor overspray in the door that will easily get out when polishing. Could not get the wheels off so I ended up cutting the axles And that's where we are now. I'm not going crazy in this one. Interior will remain black and probably untouched. Will add brakes, polish it and call it done. Thanks,
  11. It has a modern european tuner vibe to it. Nice!
  12. Very nice! I have that kit in my stash waiting to be built. One of the dream cars of my youth. Thanks,
  13. Thank you all! I appreciate all your comments. I finally finished editing a 3 minute video on this model. I always wanted to do this but it was actually harder than I thought. Let me know what you think of the video. Thanks!
  14. Hello, I built this Gurney Eagle about 10 years ago and it is still one of my favorites and best efforts. Gurney's 1968 Indy 500. He finished second, behind Bobby Unser in another Eagle. More info here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/9504-ladies-and-gentlemen-the-eagle-has-landed/ RIP Dan! Thanks,
  15. This project is FINISHED and posted Under Glass! Thanks for watching!
  16. Hello! I know modern cars are not exactly the cup of tea of the majority of forum members here. But I'm very happy to present this humble model. You see, this is my first completion since 2009! While it won't hold a candle to what I was doing 10 years ago, I'm nonetheless very happy to be back! This is Revell's 1/25 snap C7 kit, so from the start we all knew this curbside was not going to get too far. I took it as a factory stock challenge. I built it as my dream daily driver as I would have ordered it: A C7 Corvette Stingray Z51, Laguna blue with Kalahari interior. The Z51 performance package includes upgraded brakes with slotted rotors, Z51 specific wheels and full width rear spoiler among other things. Option J6F: red painted calipers is represented. The interior represents a top of the line 3LT trim level in Kalahari color. This option included the top of the dash in Kalahari color for 2014 and 2015. But from 2016 forward, the top of the dash was black even in the 3LT trim level, making this car a 2014 or 2015 model year. However, this car also includes option EYT: Carbon Flash Package option which includes Carbon Flash (metallic black) emblems in the front and rear bumpers, the CORVETTE script letters in the back and the 2 fender stingray emblems, replacing the standard chrome items. This option was not available in 2014 so essentially making this representing a 2015 car. I also blacked out the front grille's chrome bar. This was not part of the EYT option until 2016 so I took a little artistic license there. Hey! It's MY car! This car also has option CFZ: front splitter and side rocker panels in carbon flash. This is a popular aftermarket option for C7s. As for the build, I used Scalefinishes Laguna blue paint and Scalefinishes clear. I removed the molded exhaust tips and made my own aluminum tips. The car also has full carpeting (flocking), full instrumentation including both displays and gauges, added scratchbuilt seat belts with hardware, inside mirror and outside mirror faces. I machined my own rotors and scratchbuilt calipers, front splitter and side rocker panels. Valve stems were added to the wheels. Inspection sticker and license plate make it legal. The ride height was tuned to my taste. Emblems are home brewed decals. You can check the progress thread here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/105147-c7-corvette/ Finally, a prominent feature of the car, the headlights, are very disappointing in the kit. I did my best and modified the parts but still not fully happy with them. Proper headlights would require extensive and very time consuming scratchbuilding. Anyways, here it is! Hope you like it. What do you think? Thanks,
  17. Nice start! I like where you are going with this one.
  18. Looking really good! Yellow looks good on it as well. I have the coupe in the stash and plan on yellow when I get to it. I'll follow this one closely. Thanks,
  19. Beautiful execution! Love it!
  20. Cool! One of my all time favorite cars.
  21. Excellent craftsmanship! Great job on an unusual subject. Thanks,
  22. Lots of effort in this one. Turned out really nice!
  23. Followed the progress of this one. Very nice! It was very cool in itself as a stand alone unit but the diorama brings it to life! I like all aspects: the engine itself, cart, belt, saw etc. Never saw this type of equipment in real life but my only comment is that the saw itself looks very shiny. Maybe dull it a little bit? Again, never seen one so not sure how valid my comment is. Love it! Thanks,
  24. Great job on one of the most beatiful cars ever made. I built the same kit a few years ago. Thanks,
