  1. My favorite putty is Super Fine Milliput. It doesn't shrink, dries hard and can be sanded, machined etc. There is a regular and a superfine.
  2. I like where this is going!
  3. Hmmm.... I was not aware of a Panamera kit. Interesting..... Will follow up closely.

How dare you to have fun! This is an outrage! I hear you about working on "non cup of tea" projects. Don't worry about it. I am a life member (and past president) of that club... Nice work by the way Thanks,
  5. Very nice work on that car! The only problem is now I want to hunt down one of those ASA Camaros!
  6. Impressive in every aspect, from conception to execution to finish! But what really impresses me the most is the realistic weathering. For the first time I can truly say I like something related to a '32 Ford.
  7. Very nice! I like it a lot!
  8. I was going to say something nice because I like it, but then I realized it is yours.... Un abrazo mi hermano!
  9. Nice job on a beautiful race car! I have to hunt down one of those kits.
  10. Excellent work!
  11. Great job on a great kit of a beautiful car. Very nice!
  12. I agree on the word handsome! Great job... twice!
  13. DUH! Did not think directly to BMF..... Order placed! I was not aware they carry decal film as well! Proverbial 2 birds with 1 stone... or was it 2 stones for the bird? Walmart? Only 3 between my house and my office. Only like 20 around.... Thanks,
  14. Hello friends! I'm a bit rusty on supplies and vendors. Any recommendations on where to mail order Bare Metal Plastic Polish and decal paper? ( other than eBay which is always Plan B) Thanks,
  15. Hello, Masked and painted the black trim on the windows. Added a scratchbuilt rear view mirror, a glaring omission in the kit. Just the basic shape. I thought about adding OnStar but it won't be seen. Funny story, when doing the mirror, I was going to hold it with a small alligator clip for painting when it went flying into the 5th dimension. Almost gave up the search and was about to start another one when it magically reappeared about 5 feet from the workbench. Thanks,
  16. Hello, From what I remember, this kit fits very good. Only the engine/transaxle fit to the chassis may be a challenge. I remember cutting and extending the torque tube for a better fit years ago. The C5R kit is a very different kit but no major issues. It is actually simpler to start with. Been a race car, fitting the body over the chassis is always a careful operation. Thanks,
  17. Thanks Douglas! Everything was put away for the hurricane and the C7R is still tucked away. I need to get back to it. Thanks,
  18. Hello! Here is a quick peek at a "secondary" project I've been working on for the past few days while the blue C7 is progressing. Now, before you sentence me to death by even looking at a dreaded diecast (GASP!), let me explain: The current 7th generation of Corvettes has not been offered in plastic kits. Only the ill fitting C7R and the snap Stingray. There is also a glue version of the Stingray. The snap kit is rather crude but workable. That's the one I'm working as my main project now along with the C7R. But there are no convertibles, Grand Sports, Z06 and I don't really expect a ZR1 either. I've never paid much attention to 1/24 diecasts. But Walgreens had the Maisto 1/24 C7 Corvette convertible on sale for $9 each (and the Z06 and what they claim to be a Grand Sport which is a lame attempt we will discuss later). So I picked them up without any real intentions. I noticed they were missing brake rotors and calipers. So I thought I'd just add brakes and polish the less than stellar paint. Or so I thought. One thing got after another, and the convertible became a project on its own. So I stripped it and started working on it. It is a crude starting point so I don't really expect much from it. But let's see how it goes. I started with this: After getting past the nausea inducing door gaps, I noticed the wheels have no brake details. Interior detail is very simple but not much worst that the snap kit I'm working on. Actually, the seats look good. Took it apart and was ready to be stripped.... When I noticed the rear deck lid was PLASTIC! If it had come in contact with the harsh paint stripper it would have been destroyed. Brake fluid took care of the deck lid. The plastic is not styrene. It is a bit softer but workable. If the gaps were big to start with, after stripping the thick paint they are unacceptably HUGE! So I started adding material (styrene) to all sides to keep proper alignment. Progressing alongside the Revell snap 1/25 Stingray. The scale difference between 1/24 and 1/25 is noticeable. Same process for the doors. I can't stand those huge gaps. Slowly getting there... With the exception of the noticeable difference in weight, from this point forward it is just another model project. When I was happy with the grey primer, I applied white primer and worked it. Once perfect, correct Arctic white lacquer was applied followed by lacquer clear. Masked and airbrushed the gloss black trim behind the seats. Focusing on the interior, I am replicating a 3LT adrenaline red color scheme. Added belts and guides. Tried to put some life into the rather poorly engraved interior tub Doors were glued shut. The hood has to be separate because it is required to be off (or at least open) to install the windshield. Can't see it in the pic but it polished out beautifully. Started the fun part of free hand painting the intensive black trim. And that's where it is now. After the blue C7 is finished, this one will be next most likely along with the C7R. Not expecting much based on it's humble origins, but having fun with it. Sorry for the long post... Thanks,
  19. On behalf of all factory / showroom stock modelers like myself, THANK YOU! I appreciate and understand the effort and dedication that goes into something like this. I've always thought if I ever do a model of an antique road car, it would be a factory stock Model T. But I need to learn more about them first. Thanks!
  20. Nice! Love the color scheme, especially the spoiler.
  21. Back to back Home Runs! Love them!

    Miura

Beautiful! Not only a beautiful clean execution, but exceedingly fast as well! Mine has been in primer for over 10 years. I think the primer must be dry by now
  23. Hello again! Happy New Year! Masked and airbrushed the lower part of the rear bumper. Then had a lot of fun free hand brush painting the black molded details: Grille, hood vent, side vents, rear vents etc. You may notice all emblems were shaved off. Stay tuned for more on that.... Slowly but surely moving along. Thanks!
  24. Hello, Can I stop polishing now? My elbow, wrist and fingers hurt! Happy New Year! Thanks,
