  1. So, I'm now in struggle while you learn stage. I'm using Testors white primer. Then I'm using Splash paint for the first time. I made tiny sanding blocks from Corian scrap, superglued two grits of sandpaper, and managed to get one side about perfect. I mixed paint in the cup for the Samsonite suitcase, so at least I'll have a killer suitcase from this project. I tested the Testors Glosscoat on the blue paint next to the parts, did not craze. I'm doing several steps, painting the underside first. So the first pass with the gloss seemed to work. I hate the dust specks, but I was planning to stuff with gear which should hide it. I then sprayed the Splash on the top side. I did several passes, last one with a higher paint volume. Then disaster, it seemed to have reacted with the primer, and for some reason where the mold lines on the roof were sanded off, it really did something weird! At least the suitcase looks good.
  2. Thank you. What bindings are on those skis? I remember Cubco when I was a kid, but the ones in the picture look different. More memories. Thanks to you also.
  3. I'm simply clarifying who made the toy C-111 "model", which is horrid for accuracy. My plan is to make the body correct, not doing the Wankel engine, but instead it will be a resto-rod. Someday.
  4. ~bump~ Only because I found out about this source, wondering if it's a copy of an existing kit, or an all new mold. http://mizorogiscm.shop-pro.jp/?pid=136679312
  5. Yea, any small production resin whatever, is most likely to become collectible. I learned that!
  6. That looks really sharp! But, because I owned a '57 4 door wagon, I'm really partial too. It was fun washing it, around those fins. Did you forget to BMF the top trim piece, or is the lighting not showing it?
  7. That's a neat model! I always liked the wagon version, or do Swedes call them Shooting Brakes too? Only time I have seen "AirTrax", is when I found their Ferrari 330GTC, which is not available. This Volvo would be a good subject for someone to produce.
  8. Wow, that 330 P4 out in the wild, that is so cool! I could post all the time on this thread, since Prescott has a bunch of car enthusiasts. But this post is made with some emotion, because this is the last time I will turn off the highway to go home, with this '69 Chevy pickup. I bought it from a friend, when he was losing his house, with the agreement that I sell it back to him when his mom's estate was resolved, it sat for a few years because I had not felt I owned it, but finally got it running and have enjoyed using it. But our friendship fell apart because he was too much of a drunk, he made the choice to never talk to me. I recently got an email from his nephew, asking if I still had it. He also told me my friend died last year. Because his grandpa bought it new in Safford, AZ, it was really sentimental to the family, so I am honoring the agreement. I made a recycling run, then took the mountain bike to a trailhead, and today got a load of quartz rocks for landscaping. It's been a great truck, will miss it. And I have 3 kits so I can build a replica! Oh yea, nice street rod.
  9. recycling toilet paper
  10. Oh man, this is a main reason I stopped working on my Bus (not part of this challenge build). I sure wish someone would produce photo-etch emblems, not just this but the "Volkswagen" like the Gunze Sangyo high-tech kit has.
  11. with crazy relatives
  12. Resin Model Ranch, that the name of the resin caster? I didn't see it listed.
  13. You gotta be kidding me! I've done plenty of dump runs, but there is always garbage, maybe tempted to grab aluminum cans for recycling. I turned one of those into junk, don't tell the guy who is running the Bring Out Your Dead challenge build.
  14. I swear that I did a search before posting! Sorry, I have no problem if the Admin deletes this thread.
  15. I know, it seems silly. But some people don't like messing with photo-etch.
  16. Spot Model has more aftermarket goodies: Reji - HB Int'l decals which look like the Renaissance decals. Scale Production - Walter Röhrl figure standing, not driving.
  17. WOW That looks awesome!
  18. I was thinking the other day, about the movie Gumball Rally. Then I got an email from someone, who asked if I wanted the Revell kit of this! Heck ya! So I had to search and see how it builds up, this looks really SWEET! New future project, #89.
