  1. The louvers were made for Larry by someone else (who doesn't want to be known because he doesn't want to spend the rest of his life making 25th scale louvers for people) in thin brass plates which Larry grafted into the plastic panels.
  2. Try this website. Many of these guys live in the UK http://www.automodelling.com/forum.php?id=2
  3. '29 Model A's and '32 deuce pickups are quite different in bodies, dimensions, frames, pickup beds, etc. There isn't MUCH outward appearing differences between a '32 and '34 Ford pickup. The grilles are different, the cabs are VERY SLIGHTLY different and wheelbase on the '34 is slightly longer. People who are into street rod models have been clamoring for a '32 pickup for a long time,,,,,,,,,so now we have one. Getting a resin conversion for the Revell '32 kit is MUCH easier than converting the '34 back to a '32. In fact, the way to do that would be to do exactly what I did, so now the work is done for those who don't want to do it.
  4. Truck is fantastic. Great job.
  5. WOW. I REALLY like that. Just wonderful, from end to end.
  6. Last year Tom Kren went to a car show and posted pictures of this car. Well, we've all seen cars that just grab ya, but you don't know why. So, for about a year, I've been thinking I have to build this from the mostly-incorrect AMT '69 Chevelle kit, which is already partially a Malibu. So far, I've added the trim for the vinyl roof and made a bench seat from a back seat from a second kit. I'll be using the wheels from the newly reissued Revell '50 Ford pickup. Using an AMT '69 Olds 442 chassis and under-hood structures. The "flattened" hood will receive the vents from an AMT '66 Olds. Don't know what engine the real car has (badged as a 350) but I'll probably throw some kind of surprise in there. THANKS TOM!
  7. Rick Gondeck's 12th scale Vette. Ron Hamilton's beautiful wagon. Bill Stillwagon does it again. 110 pictures to gawk at by clicking here: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model-clu...eeting-2162008/
  8. From Replicas & Miniatures Co. of Md. All the info is in the pictures.
  9. Tom, Let me know where you're staying so I don't book a room there.
  10. I think younger wives, especially those without any hobbies of their own, just don't understand. If you can make it to your 50's (or find another wife by then,,,,lol) people usually become more tolerant and understanding and supportive. My wife has many hobbies and completely supports mine. She works the front door at our NNL, goes to major shows with me, hangs out "with the guys", and even brags about me at her job if I have an article or model in a magazine. By the same token, I go to her quilt shows, jewlery shows, etc. and 4 years ago bought her an $8000 sewing machine,,,,,,which pretty much assures me that she isn't going to bitch about an occassional $12 kit or two. I don't have the answers. What I do know, is that she is my best friend and I've never been happier in my life
  11. Back in '05 ( I think) I sent this pic to Bob Korunow of Model Car Garage and thought it would be cool if he made these. So he did!
  12. Before worrying about all that, you better register and get your green card first.
  13. I'm sure on the 1:1cars, the stripes were slightly different, but in 1/25th scale, they work out just right. I have spent 30 years studying Yenko cars and have more reference material than I could carry. These are Revell Yenko Camaro decals on the AMT (converted to a '69) Nova.
  14. Depends on the carb, but a simple solution is to paint the carb body with Testors "jet exhaust". It's just the right color, in my opinion.
  15. Norm is doing his own chopped body. I did however, do a sedan delivery from the new sedan body, which is much more accurate than Norm's old sedan delivery body.
  16. Thank you all for the very nice comments. And thank you Brenda, for saving me the trip of driving to New Jersey to smack the ###### out of Ariel.
  17. Many modern choppers, old school bikes, vintage racers, antiques, etc. at the link: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/car-shows...otorcycle-show/
  18. They are "stents", not "stints". I've had one for over 8 years. Best of luck with your recovery.
  19. I hope you guys know that's the same day as NNL EAST.
  20. Used the entire engine from the '50 Ford pickup, except the headers. I slightly modified the chassis as shown. I slid the flathead motor mount crossmember back slightly and added a tranny crossmember. Then I made a longer drive shaft.
  21. Is it legal to smack your adopted son?
  22. Scale 4 inch chop. Ardun engine and wheels & caps from newly reissued Revell '50 Ford F-1 pickup. Tires from Modelhaus. Skull grille from The Model Car Garage - actually an afterthought because I didn't have any more "stock" photoetched grilles left. Photoetched flame exhaust tips from The Model Car Garage. Tailights are the cowl lights from the kit with the lenses painted Tamiya clear red. Ardun valve covers were dull-coated to simulate aluminum. Hearders from the AMT Phantom Vickie kit. Oil filter from a Revell '56 Chevy. Scratchbuilt linkages and fuel block. I smoothed and painted a hood,,,,,just for the heck of it.
  23. MODEL CARS! ANYONE REMEMBER MODEL CARS?
  24. The wheelbase changed in '73. I'm not home so I don't know what the wheelbase was (no reference material here at work,,,LOL). The frame layout also changed.
  25. Every 68-72 Chevelle I've built rides on the AMT '69 Olds 442 chassis. Not only is it the correct chassis but it also has posable steering. For even much more accuracy, cut away the 442 firewall, inner front fenders and radiator and support and graft those into the Chevelle.
