  1. WOW. You had 4 meetings on one night? You guys are really busy!
  2. More pics: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model-clu...eeting-4192008/
  3. I don't see a Camaro, but apparently, it's sponsored by PHOTOBUCKET. Get you dad to spring for the $30 to get a FOTKI account so we can actually see the pictures.
  4. I've read all of the above post and I've decided that we are still going to call our show the Mid-Atlantic NNL. We are still going to award several trophies in different categories by popular vote. We will still have the back door of the Armory open all day because there is no damned air conditoning. The place will still smell like a locker room (in the opinion of some). I will still run around like a chicken with it's head cut off trying to correct all the things that, invariably, go wrong. People will still try to sneak in the back of the building instead of paying the entry fee at the front door and I will still threaten to beat their face into the pavement if they don't leave immediately. People will still bitch about the door prize they won or the poor quality of the sound system (which I rent, out of my own pocket every year). Someone will bitch that we don't have a table for their particular diorama and they're too damned upity to put it on the "miscellanious" table. People will still leave built models behind on the tables when the show is over and we will have to ship the model back to them, if we can figure out who it belongs to. Vendors will still beg me to allow them to pay for their tables at the show, and then not show up, so that we have empty tables in the middle of the vendor room. Oh yeah,,,,and people will get angry at me, personally, if a certain vendor doesn't show up. Most people will vote for their own model in each category so that we have about 400 entry numbers with ONE VOTE EACH. Two or three people who received the most votes in a particular category will leave the show long before the trophies are awarded and we have to ship or deliver the trophy to them. Someone will track me down to complain that one of the toilets in the women's room is backed up, as though I can do sometrhing about that in a government facility on a Saturday. I will recieve, in the mail, door prizes from generous vendors who could not attend the show,,,,,,,on the Monday after the show. And why do we do this? BECAUSE IT'S FUN!!!!!
  5. Marcos Cruz won BEST R/M '49 MERC. CONGRATS, CRUZ. It's a beautiful build - one of your very best. Mike Napolean won BEST MODEL T THEME. CONGRATS, MIKE. Gary Kolchock won BEST VW &BEST OF SHOW CONGRATS, GARY. 375 more pics at the link; http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model_car...-208/page4.html
  6. BEAUTIFUL !!!!. And congrats on your article in the latest Model Cars.
  7. Turns out that Ariel made a good prediction. I was just informed today that HISTORIC RACING MINIATURES will NOT be at NNL EAST. He has been filling mail orders as rapidly as possible and has nothing to sell at his table.
  8. Members were asked to bring in their WORST models ever. I think Craig Turner won with this one! Check out the rest of the 97 pics: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model-clu...meeting-452008/
  9. HISTORIC RACING MINIATURES WILL BE THERE! Don't start unnecessary rumors, ya little twit! I'm gonna have Brenda smack you.
  10. And I know what Lyle's Golden syrup REALLY IS !!!!!!!!
  11. Reps & Mins will not be at NNL EAST this year. Norm has spent several weeks, off and on, away from home on another job and has fallen far behind on filling customer orders. This is completely unacceptable to Norm, who prides himself on getting orders out to customers as fast as possible. Going to NNL EAST would take 3 days away from casting and filling those orders. Besides, if he DID go, he would have very few products there to sell. He'll be back next year and, as far as I know, he'll be at Toledo in Oct. For those on the east coast who can make it to the Mid-Atlantic NNL in May, Norm will be there and hopefully , he'll be caught up on most of his products.
  12. Welcome. The Impala was built by Marcos Cruz, who is a member of the Central Pa. Model Car Club. Meetings are in York. There are other members who live in Reading. Meetings are the first Saturday of each month. Check out the club web site and get to a meeting if you can. http://www.freewebs.com/cpmcc/index.htm
  13. Takes about 3 minutes for a post to load. Other sites are working fine. GREGG - did you pay your electric bill?
  14. It says HOTHEMI,,,,,,,,,,my 1:1 is a "not hemi" MIKE - I have no idea where those wheels come from. They were given to me by a club member.
  15. Thank you, Captain Obvious!
  16. No, I don't really crank out models in 2 weeks. I started this one about 10 months ago with the intention of duplicating my 1:1 Magnum plain jane 6-banger. I realized that the real car would be gone long before I ever modified and scratchbuilt everything. So, after filling the sun roof and changing the front end to the base model Magnum, I took it over to Lloyd Woddington's shop and turned him loose on it. He dropped it down and put on some BIG wheels, painted it Krylon copper with lots of clear, added road lights and added flames. The flames look suspiciously like the decals that come in the Revell '32 Roadster kit - maybe somewhat modified. Nah,,,,Woddington almost never uses decals.
  17. Happy birthday Craig. SEE?,,,,I read the entire thing!
  18. Better safe than sorry. Just want to make sure you know that the NNL EAST has moved to Wayne, N.J. although the Holiday Inn in Parssipany isn't too far away.
  19. The front is lower than the rear. Nose up? Maybe just the way the photos look.
  20. The man is amazing. Fantastic model,,,,,,,,,AGAIN!!! Last I heard, Ted was coming up to NNL East. I hope he makes it. Can't wait to see this stuff in person.
  21. I don't recognize the name. And what the hell is a dore?
  22. Fantastic. I love it. But,,,,uh,,,,,where are the dingle balls and the little bobble-head dog?
  23. I gather that cars in the UK have a different kind of seatbelt? or NO seatbelts? Anyway, I'm sure many people on here will chime in as to what they use for the actual seatbelt. I use strips of masking tape which I paint whatever color with acrylic paints. Some people use very thin ribbon. I've heard of one guy who slices toothpaste tubes (after they are empty) to use as the belts. Whatever you use, it goes through the loop at the end of the buckle (top row) After you fold it and make a little square box. I believe the bottom 3 rows are basically race car buckles. 24. LOL. We're all amateurs and we all keep learning things. You did a good job. Enjoy the hobby.
  25. Reissued AMT '27 Model T. "Rat rod" kit wheels and tires (painted very dark gray). Car painted with Tamiya military color (U.S.Navy) and Duplicolor clear. Flathead from new Revell '32 Sedan Got to keep the back seat passengers warm. The end.
