  2. Had to stop and go back to page 1. - Yup. This WAS an Impala …
  3. Next - the sump, the magnetoes, and/or mosquitoes - ….. and finally some spark plugs !
  4. So here’s Plan B - which uses individual lengths of solder - which will attach to the pump housing a little like the one to one …. But solder does not like glue - using CA - and i need to use a little xtra and limit handling after glueing …
  5. Water pipes - using solder - need the pipes to be pliable …. But this was a fail so to plan B …
  6. Pump housing was filed and turned in a lathe at slow speed using Evergreen plastic …
  7. The tank straps … would they bend easier if heated before bending and painting ? And or would could they be replaced by tin strip - which is softer ? ??
  8. I think i know what the fix is …
  9. Youre quite good with the BMF …. Ive got to apply some to the forward frame section of my Delage - what tool(s) do you use to burnish the foil … ??
  10. The first picture is a section of the great cutaway drawing of the engine for the 1927 Delage - the engine is a straight 8 but it was designed by Lory - who refined the 2LCV engine - and it carries many of that engine’s features forward …. The second photo is from a period photo of the 2LCV engine - again fr the Borgeson book - and shows a pump that looks like the later one - although it has to collect water fr 2 pipes rather than one - because the engine is a V12 instead if a straight eight - this will do …. By the way - you’ll notice that the cutaway was done by Max Miller - Miller and Cresswell were responsible for most of the early cutaway drawings of racing cars that we all fawn over …
  11. so the water pump is hidden below the magnetos and not very visible in pictutes - when im stuck for information an a pre-war GP engine - my go-to is this great old book ..
  12. thank you Mr L probably the reason that you hadnt noticed this is that the project was dorment for over a year whilst I chased down some Cooper and Lotus related rabbit holes ...
  13. Next ill work on the engine pumps and ancilaries - and consider my water pump mystery …
  14. And while the paint is drying - not long - this paint can be handled after thirty minutes - i added some paint hi-lites to the engine bolts - there are over 100 - on the engine casting - used some Tamiya light gun metal - topped with a drop of Molotow bright silver -
  15. But i did notice that the base of the chassis casting needed a little more work - some sanding and CA glue and another coat of silver - Tamiya acryl lacquer …
  16. But the second coat nails the shade of blue that i am searching for …
  17. The first coat is good but a little grey over the silver …
  18. This particular shade is perfect for the Delage frame - but the MRP paints are not very opague - so i have to hit the frame with some silver to provide an even base color for my Ukriane AF blue …
  19. I like the idea of hi-liting w graphite - gracias - initially airbrushed gunmetal over the blach resin - will add some hi lites later - used the MRP paints gun metal - which is marketed to the military guys …. They also happen to offer this nice shade of sky blue …
