    The right side mid- frame safety wires are not as precise as the first set - i think I know why - i’m about to reach page 13 - and we all know that the project goes to hell on page 13 - right? Anyway - ive got to Make four more segments - so Ill get better at it …

    Turning my attention back to the trans case - which was made from Evergreen stock pre-pandemic - the black undercoat is Alclad - the bolts are from RB MOTION - Ohio - and Master Club - Er - Russia - they produced some really neat castle nuts just a few years ago - but i don’t expect re-stocks any time soon …. …

    Don’t try this at home kids .. no, actually do try this at home - but only a section at a time - it will drive you batty - but it looks cool … takes some practice - and an optivisor - the parts grabber tool in the previous photo is used to grab and hold the ends of the wire to twist them from bolt to bolt …

    Time for some safety wires. The Delage has these wires running along the pan sections - they secure the bolts that attach the pan sections to the chassis. Chose some bolts that included a cast washer - but the wire - .005 - has to be wound and twisted - first around some .015 rod - these are then replaced by the bolts when the wire is installed - its a little over scale- but not much …

As ive got two of those - Important note - the Bradford fr dr 91 duplicates the Series I 91 and not the Series II cars - the ones that carried the suoercharger at the back of The cylinder head - post me here if you want more info - or if you would like to do a tandem build thread …

    Its interesting to compare MFH’s state oF the art 20th sc kit to Monogram’s state of the art 24th sc kit from over forty years ago … please post some pictures of the drivers compartment - im curious to see how much detail is provided in the MFH kit. As an example - the clutch details in the MFH are fantastic - something that Monogram omitted in their wonderful old kit … thanks also for posting the Lotus 43 build - also very helpful …

    Dash is marvelous summer is just around the bend -have you manged to source an air con for the workshop ?? ive leaped back down a Delage rabbit hole - which remains on the Model Car section for the time being - and im about to do a whole lot of “engine turned finishing” on the project ….

    Ive been sawing away on a 98 year old Delage grand prix car on the neighboring Model Cars thread …. The moderators have been asked to slide that thead over here - but they seem to be - er - asleep at the wheel …. Ill do some work on this engine once ive made some more progress on said Delage ...

    Regarding the color of the magneto - buried back on page 5 - pre-pandemic - is an exchange between Pico (the “kit’s” creator and me on the topic …. He ponts out that the material is bakelite - which was an early plastic-like material w a red/brown hew - i failed to document how i came up with the color - i mixed something and something - can’t remember just what I ended up using - oops …

    So the fix - this is optivisor stuff - was to wind some .08 wire and clip off a small peice To slip onto each plug - I’m sacrificing scale accuracy - but now these things look like spark plugs …

    The sp plugs wires clip to the tip of the plugs at right angles - per the engine bay photos way back in page 1 - so to get a secure atrachment i made some plugs fr .024 alu tubes- w an RB Motion nut - so i can secure the plug wires with a rivet that slides into these “plugs” - problem is - they don’t really look like spark plugs …
