  1. Appears to be 12th scale …. Did you get your hands on a CMA Ford GT kit - I didn’t think any of those actually existed …. It’s too detailed to be that 12th scale kit from five years ago - and that’s more than five years of dust collecting there - I do like riddles - I like beer too …
  2. Send it through a model car wash ???
  3. Electric wires. There are a bunch in the engine bay - the electronic ignition system was a new Ford development - and the components were attached to the roll bar and the braces - I think that the Clark car had some of the components in different locations - the wires that I’m adding are not spec - there are drawings for this system but I couldn’t figure out half of the wiring …
  4. Thanks. Met Michael once years ago on a trip to Cali - he will be missed - plan to do a tribute build of one of his kits …. Left cyl head plugs are in. Which is good. Because I’m sick of staring at these things …
  5. Mine did. If it happens to you - be sure to soak your eyeballs in eyedrop solution before you jam them back into your skull. Avoids infection … yes the plug wiring for this engine is kicking my a-s. … The distributor boots are supposed to all point straight back - like good little soldiers …. Mine …. Do not … I’m just making sure I end up with the correct number of plug wires …
  6. Michael Quarterman. RIP lets all build something in his memory today …
  7. Or are you painting , sprinkling on the powder, and painting again ??? really nosey …
  8. The cast finish on the knockoffs …. Are you mixing the alu powder with the paint - if so are you doing anything special to clear your air-brush ??? nosey ….
  9. Delrin is great stuff. But it doesn’t like glue - let us know what works for you …
  10. 12th try well played …
  11. yup you nailed it this is - I think - the later version of the 312 - or is it the first version fr '66 ?? can't remember I photographed a 312 at a Cavallino event almost 20 yrs ago that had the earlier [?] - 2 valves vs 4 valves ? - engine Ferrari will never make a prettier GP car ...
  12. merry retirement one of my favorite sports cars consider doing the 12th scale as a non racer - although you mite have to source different tires ???
  13. I love the smell of brass in the morning …
  14. Just in case anyone is curious, that Ford decal on the valve cover is from a 43rd scale Indycals decal sheet for the Gurney 29 ….
  15. Yes. Thanks. It is parafilm. Which is also handy for sealing that last half bottle of beer that you decide not to finish at O dark 30….
  16. Detail master .013 plug wires with angled plug boots and RB Bentley plugs …
  17. What if just take a firehose …. ?????
  18. Wait. What if I move all the stuff on the left side back to the RIGHT side of the bench - Will THAT count ????
  19. So here’s my question … I took all the stuff on the right side Of my workbench and moved it to the LEFT side of my workbench - does this count as “cleaning the workbench???!
  20. very nice - for those on this site of a tender age - this is a 45 year old white metal kit - with one of the first sets of photo etched wheels these were bonkers at the time - now they seem dated with 3D printing tech and it is in 24th scale still gettable on Ebay and worth it - for the right price ,,,
  21. Painting anD adding some of the electrical wiring …. The valve covers were razor sawed off of the block casting - then added the brackets for the plug looms and then painted Alcad Chrome …
  22. If I saw this beast in my rear view mirror - it would scare the daylights out of me …. really well done …
  23. Has anyone ever seen an off centered ignition coil ? Here’s one - as used on the Lotus 29 …. Wonder why ? The nipple on the Pro Tech part was razor sawed off and re- glued …. The coil is strapped to the roll bar brace that I will make next. …
  24. Jay C. Thanks - but just for the record - this is a 24th scale build - the Mad Mike printed engine began life as a 24th scale Ford 289 - and there is no way to make a 25th scale Indy car with a 24th sc engine - so the parts that I am “borrowing” from the AMT Lotus Indy kit have been modified to suit - the monocoque is based on the Clidinst drawings copied in 24th scale …
