  1. She's close to finished! Attached the lights and grill screen. Got to use my new tool I found at the hobby shop. I really like it, simple but effective! The window just falls into place! All I had to do was run a small bead of glue around the edges. Assembled the wing and glued that into place, as well as the tail lights. Finally a little more color to this model! This is my favorite part so far, the hood screen with the engine vents underneath. such a cool detail! Next photos should be in the "Under Glass" section!
  2. Completed! Finished pics here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=93327
  3. Wrapped this one up last night and took a couple pics of her outside today. A few progress pictures here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=92644 Comments welcomed. Looking at these pictures, I forgot to give the mirrors a little dab of silver paint. That will be remedied soon!
  4. Hey that work bench looks familiar! This was a really cool project to see come together and you really knocked it out of the park. I'm perfectly fine with "borrowing" parts if they're put to this good of use.
  5. Very nice looking Skyline!
  6. Thanks, I'm learning a few new techniques on the few projects I have on my bench right now. The first coat of clear gave the hood much more contrast and helped show off the carbon fiber pattern. I'm getting all the clear parts and body accessories ready to go on this kit and hopefully wrap it up soon.
  7. Thanks everyone, she's almost done. Just getting some coats of clear red and blue built up on the light cover and they'll be ready to glue on. Broke off the Driver's mirror while polishing it. This little body was hard to hold! But it was pretty easy to get back on solid with just a little dab of glue.
  8. Completed a trade with Ewan "every second counts". Great person to deal with.
  9. Awesome! That light bar looks about the same as the kit part so it won't look bad at all. I had a folder in school when I was a kid, just had the Lamborghini police car, no people or other cars. Those pictures make me want to get another 1/32 sports car and some figures, do a diorama. Anyone make 32nd scale figures?
  10. Suprisingly, this little kit does have the staggered rear wheels. Don't know if they scale out to the proper diameter or width, but they'll be convincing enough on this little car. I just sprayed them silver and gave them a black wash. Wish they came off the tree a little nicer but oh well. Getting the detail painting done and ready to be sealed down with clear!
  11. Having some fun with a little 1/32 scale Lamborghini Countach. I took the Police equipment from a Malibu Police car and transplanted it into the Lambo. I narrowed the light bar. I may try to make it a little more low profile but that's not a huge priority for this build. I found a set of decals that I think are for a 1/43 scale car. Looked like they'd fit just right when I saw them in the store. . . And they definately do!
  12. Alrighty! where were we? Getting back to this one and making good progress. Going with dark wheels. here they are test fitted with the completed chassis. I used an old sheet of foil to mask around the widow trim and hood. I like this method but it'd get pretty spendy buying foil just to throw away, After the trim and hood were painted I taped over all the trim. I cut ribbon then sprayed it with a little adhesive. I cut it into two pieces at an angle to simulate a cabon weave design. I laid two sided tape along the sides and front of the hood and put a piece under the vents and along the back of the hood to help hold down the ribbon. Then tucked it along the contours. the adhesive held just enough! After a light coat of a dark metallic grey I had a nice carbon fiber like pattern. The pattern didn't show up as great in some areas but I think the process yielded a convincing carbon fiber hood. On to clear coat and polishing. should be finishing the EVO soon!
  13. Plain and simple, if it wasn't fun nobody would do it. WHERE you get the fun out of it, depends on the builder.
  14. That's awesome! the silhouette of the fan and the driver's pose make the moment.
  15. I'm hoping someone makes a newer style Ford Econoline or Chevy Express body.
  16. Ben "Evilbenny" is a great member to trade with.
  17. The roof on a new ZR1 is unpainted carbon fiber. Good start on this kit. The white is going to look mean!
  18. It seems like an awesome idea, but how can it be an efficient fuel if it's "non flammable"?
  19. Love this setup! Such a cool subject and excellent execution!
  20. A friend of mine did the robocop kit and it made me want to build one as well. I'm liking the bright yellow you choose to do.
  21. I had a great trade with Tommy (om617).
  22. The John Deere Pontiac is molded in white. That and the Remington kit were produced about the time when Revellogram started using white for all the kits. Although, I do have a Todd Bodine Factory Stores TBird that is molded in blue.
  23. Here are the kits I have for trade. The 300C is started and I was just going to do a quick abd simple build so the doors and trunk have been glued shut. The 500SL has a coat of silver paint on the body. The 427 Camaro is missing 2 wheel backs. I bet I could round two up out of my parts bin by the time I pack it up to head up north. The 35th anniversary Camaro had barely been started (I think the shifter is glued into the center console is all) and is missing the climate control decal. The Hotwheels Camaro has a few chassis and body parts glued together and is missing the decals. All others are complete.
  24. what if Bruce Wayne was a truck guy?
