  16. First try....worked great! I need to practice a bit more, but this job was in a tight place...the red edge on the hood is on the side and I will touch this up later. The colors are all duplacolor lacquers the stripe is between 6 coats of clear and no ridges show.
  17. Only 2 bucks........GOOD DEAL!!

  19. WOW I love the whole thing......front to back and up and down As old B.C. would say JUST BITCHIN!!!!!!!!!!! and the well writen tutorial is what this forum is about!! Thanks Bernard...keep it coming!
  20. If you want to see something that really adds a lotta pop , is scale and if done right doesn't look trashy or cheap. Its a clear rattlecan duplacolor lacquer called "CLEAR EFFEX".......WOW I tried it on 4 or 5 solid colors and worked nice on a dark gloss finish. Then I shot this '72 pickup with duplacolor metalic black and currant red, followed by 2 light coats of "CLEAR EFFEX"and 5 coats of clear. The effect is unreal in the sun.... I have not rubbed or polished this out yet.
  21. I typically shoot lacquers as all my base, color and, clear coats and 8 or 9 clear coats is not unusual....but I like enough clear for polishing...as I normally get some peel but the end result is worth it! With duplacolor if you mist it evenly I can get a pretty good surface and 5 or 6 hours in the cooker and its shrunken down and ready to polish. Then I foil mine and if I want to seal the foil, I brush on some future. On my '34 PU build I forgot to clear the grill.......so with lights and the grill mounted............I futured the grill 4 coats in 2 days..and you can't see the diff!!!!!! Future seems to seal better than more lacquer..........Good Luck!!!!!
  22. That was FUN!!!!!!....The cars turned out unreal....BUT that workroom.......I'M STILL DROOLING!!!!!!!!!
