  1. STOP that this second. You live in Rhinelander, by your choice..not mine. I too lived in WI..for 40+ years......Please note I now reside 100 miles due North of Key West...No it doesn't snow here..not since 1975. I might suggest stop by Fleet Farm and picking up a new pair of Gortex gloves, a 12 pack of Blue Bullets, and relax...June is right around the corner!!!
  2. Take your picture, run it thru MS word, size it as needed...just like using acme platemaker
  3. Donn Yost base...spray it aluminum metalizer...then Candy Apple Red.......let that beauty be seen!!!!
  4. make it the roof and its the General Comet.....
  5. Amen to what the other guys said! ;)
  6. Doesn't need that mirror on the side anyways........

  8. LIGHTING The #1 issue I help people with all the time. You cannot have too much light!!! As Jim pointed out the Macro setting does not work well with flash (if at all) The easiest trick is to BACK UP and ZOOM IN...use your flash. If you shoot with enough light , focus , shutter speed , aperature..do not make much difference with todays auto exposure cameras.I set mine to AP (Aperature Priority @f8) A tripod will hold things tight...needed for macro use..this eliminates camera shake or movement...#1 cause of fuzzy images Here are some examples: This was shot hand held @f8.....30 " away with flash, outdoors this was shot in macro mode...no flash outdoors: this was hand held macro...lots of light to prevent shake....I've been shooting for 30 + years...use a tripod in macro..... I could spend hours teaching photography, but today as we do not use film, looking at your results when shooting will show you what you have, hit delete and reshoot. Practice is the key, look at pictures that you like and see what was done...
  9. An ongoing problem here....was worse but is getting better Some need to think another minute before they hit enter
  10. Rob, you have the experience to do this well. That said if the frustration level gets high...you may give up. Chopping tops is not that hard...you have to think ahead. I would still practice on another body.....but go for it and show us as you are cutting!! GOOD LUCK AND GOOD CHOPPIN!!
  11. Eric is right Steve...You can put lacquer under most paints...but not over. Time to put that body in the pond, strip and reprime
  12. Kool choice...IMHO...I would do a modest drop on that one, reverse the axle in the back, move the spindles up in front..With the right wheel choice you will have a slammed stunner....
  13. I love it. ..A great kit. But you forgot the wipers..... or is it a garage queen!!
  14. Rob..Mark hit it well....that is a toughie for your first chop. I would go resin for the time. I did my first chop on a 34 PU...easiest top to chop, then I did a 56 f100, little tougher but straightforward. From there I have chopped a bunch more and even sectioned a couple more after that. Steve makes it tempting , but sure is a lot of stuff on your first chop.....just sayin...
  15. I saw this one as real at my first glimpse....The grill was the key for me, as I learned to drive in one of these..My uncle bought one surplus for on the farm...perfect for finding the herd... I also do not trust backrounds.....Harry is that good
  16. I don't think Harry wins this week....
  17. Hey Jesse ...Darrin gives good advice...I would ask what car are you going to do? Different rides with different ways to slam them. You can bag it, go with hydros, or cut and notch, move things around a bit...what "years" are you looking to model...from the 60s to 2000 slammin a ride sure has changed...

  19. Any white glue will work well for mockups....it will wash off with water for final assy....You can use Elmer's, I prefer Aileen's tacky glue or crafters choice..WB superglue..tape in place and let dry overnight. As to the putty..use 2 part bondo glazing putty..it does not shrink
  20. It s gonna be perfect slammed down with a nailhead.....GO BERNARD GO !!!!!!
