  1. Between our kitchen reno, painting the kitchen, dining room and hallway, the time on the bench has been pretty scarce these days. I managed to hit the bench and got the engine together, the color red is a custom color I mixed using silver, aluminum, and red, Meh... looks good enough for me. Added a couple of modern parts from my little spare bin - air cleaner, and distributor. Air cleaner I have no idea what kit it came from but the distributor came from the '70 1/2 Baldwin Camaro kit glue bomb kit I had purchased at a small local IPMS show in Liverpool, NY 2 years ago. Valve covers and fan painted using Molotow chrome pen. Decals needs to be added to valve covers later.
  2. Very nice work! I couldn't do that using BMF myself. Especially the lettering and circle trim.
  3. PM sent...
  4. That is way cool! Yeah, I'd build me that in a kit. If you don't mind me asking g, what type of motorbike is it and what year? Still a cool thing to see.
  5. This morning on my way to work. Why in God's name would you do this to a perfectly nice Ford Mustang GT? And what's up with the "security" badge on the trunk face? I'll never understand why idiots do this.
  6. Oh cool! I wouldn't mind grabbing them off your hands if you're not going to use them. Not too often you find optional skirts on '57 Chevy kits.
  7. Don't forget... they're closed on Sundays.
  8. Yes you can... on 1 kit. For multiple kits, you will have to check each one out separately.
  9. Who doesn't love a '57 Chevy? I do!! Too bad the kit didn't come with skirts. Loving it so far!!
  10. Went to Hobby Lobby earlier this week with hopes of grabbing the new 1970 Camaro full bumper version during their second 40% all models sale. No dice but picked up this instead
  11. I'd love to see the guys from Iron Resurrection do one on their show. Oh man, it would be golden to see what Martin Brothers can do the "57 Olds 88
  12. There all over New York State..... not uncommon as you think they are.
  13. Good luck with that. Bleach doesn’t work in stripping paint. I tried that as well and I can tell you bleach is useless. However, it does work in stripping chrome off. Easy Off oven cleaner (yellow can) always worked for me.
  14. I remember doing this kit in my youth years. Boy, I'd love to get another crack it at again.
  15. Looking good! Except round my area in Central NY and across the Northeast, Modified were strictly all sheet metal body around a roll cage frame, never using a Vega, Pinto, Gremlin or any make auto body. These are the modified dirt track racers often seen in the Northeast (New York, Pennsylvania, etc...) https://speedsport.com/dirt-late-models/dirt-modifieds/new-modified-tour/
  16. Big Red Rod selling on eBay for 2 - 3 times the amount. Wow... https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2499334.m570.l2632&_nkw=big+red+rod&_sacat=1188
  17. Found these at my local Ollie's store yesterday. The Civil War kit ($29.99) is tempting me. LOL!!As the above poster mentioned, the Mars Probe and the SNARK kit was also available at my Ollie's store as well.
  18. Awesome build. I've been wanting to pick up a '63 Galaxie kit for quite some time now.
  19. Thank you. They give you a choice of 3 different color stripes.
  20. Aw BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH! I forgot to do the door handles! ?
  21. I wasn't sure if I started a WIP on this kit but anyway, All Rise to the Judge... This is the Revell Muscle Machines '69 Pontiac GTO Judge 2 n 1 kit. Zero fit issues and it was a dream to build. I really enjoyed it. If I ever find another, I would do the '68 version. I painted it in Hugger orange with white interior and black dashboard. Rims were treated with a bleach bath and I mixed my own colors for the aluminum and dark andonic grey colors. The Metallizers lacquers didn't turn out too well as I hoped by hand brushing. For the aluminum color I mixed Model master Aluminum, Insignia White and Chrome Silver, for the Dark Andonic Grey, I used Steel, German Silver and a touch of either grey or black - I can't remember now. I think it turned out pretty well considering.
  22. Once I used bleach I had laying around in the laundry room. Didn’t do the trick until I realized it was old. So I went out and bought a new small bottle. Stripped it off in minutes, never overnight. Then I’ll will soak it in plain water overnight. I never had issues with chrome needing to sit overnight to do the job in bleach. Now Easy Off oven cleaner, I will spray it on in a dedicated plastic tubwith cover. Let sit overnight, reapply again the next day and let sit overnight again. Rinse in water with an old toothbrush to brush off any residual paint and clean with IP alcohol or Dawn dishwashing liquid.
