  1. I was stoked that it is a 3 n 1 kit. You can build it 3 ways, Stock, Drag, or Custom. It gave me 2 engine choices: 255 cu. in. "Flathead" V-8 and a 440cu. in. V-8. I built up both anyway. First the 255cu. in. V-8. Painted it Ford Engine Red, opting to use Offenhauser cylinder heads, intake manifold, "Beehive" oil filter and dual Stromberg 97 carburators instead of bone stock cylinder heads, intake manifolds and carburator. The fan belt assembly had the alternator molded on. I didn't like the looks of it, so off it came and used a different alternator from my parts spares bin. Cylinder heads are painted aluminum and enhanced with black detail wash. The second engine is a 440 cu. in V-8... The carburators were molded on dual carb intake manifold. I didn't like it and it looked out of scale and too small. So, I grinded them down, used better carburators from a mule Monte Carlo kit I also added a pair of custom air filters. The kit's version were waaay to small, Those were also from same Monte Carlo mule kit as well. I basically repainted them a different shade of metallic silver and am happy with the results.
  2. Got this on a trade with a fellow member here recently. Started some work on it the last couple weeks between my builds. The kit:
  3. ROCKFORD FILES ! I loved that show! Well done on the Firebird!
  4. AMT is coming out with the full bumper Camaro kit in September 2020. I know that one is on top of my must have list. https://www.modelroundup.com/1970-1-2-Chevy-Camaro-Z28-Full-Bumper-p/amt-r2-1155.htm
  5. I've watched a few shows on Netflix... Making a Murderer Any Gabriel Iglesias comedy show Any Sebastain Manascalo comedy show Comedians in Car Getting Coffee The F**k List Peeky Blinders The Crown A few others I can't think off the top of my head.
  6. Looks great considering the fight you had with the windows. I've worked with BMF a lot on my auto builds. The key is to work slowly and in sections. I never use the regular Xacto blades. I use the sharpest one out there... Xacto Z Series blades - the ones with the gold blades. They are super sharp and will cut in light pressure when working with BMF. I also use a Q-tip to buff out the details tight before trimming excess BMF. I always use a brand new blade when working with BMF for each new auto kit. Hope this helps on how to work on BMF a little better.
  7. Wow... I can understand your reasoning. Man, I wish I could be in California to see what you’ve got in your auto and aircraft stash. There are a number of car kits I’d love to get my hands on from my youth years.
  8. No pics because I happened to see something I recognized from a distance on the highway. I knew it was a mid 50s station wagon and a Chevy. I wasn’t sure if it was a ‘55, ‘56, or ‘57. Told the missus hold tight cuz I gotta see what car that is. I sped up just enough to get a positive ID. Sure enough, it was ‘57 Chevy Nomad. I have never seen one up close or on the highway in all my years of driving. As I passed him, I gave the driver of the Nomad a thumbs up and he smiled and waved. This happened a couple days ago.
  9. Question is, will they listen? No but surely the repercussion has already started. Money talks, bullsh*t walks. Kalmbach will do what they want no matter what. FSM has been on the downside for a while, Hell, I even did them a favor to have them ban me from their FSM forums after they started moderating my comments. All started with one member who didn't like my comment and always fell in favor from the mods themselves.
  10. $90!?!? No thank you. A bit too much money considering Kalmbach wants to end publication to SAM. Ever noticed FSM never does a car kit review on their site? I think Kalmbach feels there’s no longer a need for car kits but more for aircraft, ships, and armor. I do agree with one poster these IPMS shows are geared to those subjects more than auto. Last year’s Syrcon show had more military kits than auto kits on contest display. Yet, they were selling auto kits too. Sad really.
  11. Yeah... I noticed they were missing at my Barnes & Nobles store. Sad really. I like to pick up those mags for inspiration on my auto builds.
  12. Man... that really looks nice!
  13. Word has it over in FSM forums, their sister magazine last issue will be October 2020. The OP there also mentioned the Scale Auto Mag members are pissed. Quite a few refuse to go over to FSM forums and some are demanding they get refunds for their magazines. Sounds to me Kalmbach publishing is in some sort of financial trouble. Who knows, maybe the writing's on the wall that FSM will fold too. Gonna be interesting. Then again, this pandemic is hurting everyone.. including journalism folks who work for various magazine outlets. I have noticed no new issues of car related mags ... Hot Rod, CarCraft, etc... haven't come out with new issues since the lockdown. It goes for the other genre magazines as well.
  14. I could try but I doubt I'll succeed. LOL!
  15. Interior is done with the exception or lack of minor detail AMY overlooked - the rear panel lamps behind the seats. Will figure out how to make it happen but I've got a pretty goos idea how.
  16. Dash board is finished. The main dash gauge cluster was molded in chrome. Good Lord,,, that is wrong. So it went in a bleach bath, rinsed and repainted, Now it looks like a proper instrument gauge cluster. Painted flat black, hand painted trim using Molotow Chrome, and highlighted details of eash gauge dial with artist pencil. Bottom pic shows with steering wheel and tach gauge.
  17. Keep in mind, this is no ordinary Shelby GT350. This is the GT350 H (’H designated for Hertz). A majority were painted Raven black.
  18. Very nice. I do like the color. I’m waiting on the release of the 1970 Z/28 Camaro full bumper version that’s due out in September 2020.
  19. I’m aware there are other colors but I had planned going with black.
  20. Oh yeah... that's one mean Duster!! Well done!!!!
  21. Started this one with some progress pics...
  22. Now that is a classy looking automobile. Well done! I wouldn’t mind getting me one myself.
  23. Now that’s a hot mess. LOLOL! Whoa... that dash looks fantastic.
  24. That is a cool car. I wouldn’t mind doing one in 1/24 or 1/25 scale. Heh.... reminds me something Jay Leno would add to his collection.
  25. FYI.... I didn’t use the tires that came with the kit. I opted to use different tires from my tires stash. The rims were hand painted using the chrome pumped out of the Molotow Chrome Pen. Once they were done, I let them cure in a span of two weeks untouched until I was ready to install them on the tires.
