CHROME plating, plater, outsource company (2020)
Khils replied to 89AKurt's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
"I"........for one ....could set up at least. Four (4) trees of parts in the fashion chrometech required them ....not knowing the said cost of equipment required to start a plating service..."How" many others like me would invest... @ X amount of dollars....would lessen the burden of the initial investment to get you started...then in return, could get the service provided @ a stock holders rate...and a higher rate for non-stock holders fees? Just a thought? -
A " warm round of applauds"
Khils replied to Khils's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well deserved homecoming Steve!! -
Saturday February 1st.....Zumbro Valley Scale Modelers hosted the annual "Hope it don't snow show" ...... there were a lot of outstanding models of nearly every imaginable subject matter on display & very deserving their awards! Very well done accomplishment to ALL entrants!! I would like to personally congratulate my friend ...Steve Guthmiller ...being awarded for TWO of his three entrants... (I'm in envy Sir!) the '65 Fury & the '67 Galaxies. All three would've captured my vote! I very much look forward to seeing the '68 Olds 442 in person at our next meeting! As Snake would say ......" model on Sir! " -Kevin

I am humbled guys!! Thank you! John, my pleasure. Steve.....will shake your hand in person this weekend? ..... really!...just still trying to fit in around here!
-
Snake have you considered one of those ultra violet glue pins?....(laser bond...I think? ) ...can manipulate its shape or placement..."until " you hit it with the light.

Badly warped, left side bumper missing, grill portion looks usable. ..PM me if you'd be interested. Kevin

I just hope....its a competitive Super Bowl...not a one sided blow-out.....I'm already happy! NO Belichick, NO Brady or cheating!

Was mostly a dirt track term.......Before modern chassis technology was developed, adjustable shocks, spring rates ,ect. ...to transfer weight to desired points of the chassis setup, cars were fairly rigid. "The floater" ...left front.....would be carried off the ground through most of the corners, touching down on straight-aways & slow speeds. These floaters were of different tread , narrower foot print, smaller diameter. ( mostly preference) ....possible thoughts were...less drag/friction. I am No authority ....just the way "floater" was explained to me back in the early '70's. (#56 Gene Schattschneider)

Might I suggest removing it & use it as a pattern for a new one. Or......you mentioned "bullet holes" .....possibly " broken glass"...... just a thought. Nice looking 1/2 track!
-
Very awesome idea Gary! As a fan myself.....I would ALSO be in for a set myself.....Good luck & best wishes for your project!! -Kevin

That's multiple trades Sam!! Let's do it again soon. THX again!

1964 Ford Galaxie Tear drop hood
Khils replied to Nitrobarry's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
To answer your question ....Yes.....go to Car aftermarket /resin forum...then aftermarket directory. ..this vendor ...http://www.resinrealm.net/Star/STARModels.html. Steve has quite a few various vacuum formed hood scoops & at least 3 different tear drops styles ...here's the one I prefer.
