It was an excellent show, put on by an excellent group. Some of the best work I have seen at a show was there. There was a dio there that was just mind blowing, that unfortunately Jim doesn't have a photograph of, but it was a work of pure art. If anyone knows the one I'm speaking of, and has pics please post them up.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a building. I did a country road dio-base that was a lot of fun to do. Pretty simple.

Yes. I'm actively looking for a few 1/20 scale engines/wheels/tires to add to some 1/25 scale models to let my inner Trosley go wild.

I've liked this from the get-go, but I gotta say the exo-cage does not work very well. It's made from straws and it looks like it's made from straws.

Finishing it with work quality you aren't happy with, is not much of a success. My advice is to put it away until you have more time and do it right. Some Bare Metal Foil would be your best investment here. Also a black wash of acrylic paint in the grill will make it really pop. Without actually seeing the issue it's hard to say what to do here. In the future repeated test fittings throughout the build process will allow you to deal with such problems before the body is fully painted.

Until you have both kits in hand, there's no way to advise you. I would get a 6.1 L Challenger kit and see how things pan out.

Wow. I expected more participation on this one from this group. We got plenty of Leowy, Starbird, Roth fans here. Maybe its because of the "no bashing" rule? Great stuff Ace. I agree with all the stuff you posted.

The MPC '67 Charger kit. It's a very simplified kit, the molded details are very shallow. But it kitbashes very well, the fitment is excellent (except for the bumpers) and as my favorite 1:1 I really enjoyed them as a young man. The Revell kit is vastly superior in every way, but I will very likely build another MPC. Two very old builds, but also my favorites.

NOTE: if this turns into a bash-the-builder-fest (yes even Jesse James) I'll delete the post. I'll start off with Sam Barris, brother of George, 1924–1967. He started Barris Kustoms with his brother and is responsible for some of the most amazing and subtle custom cars ever made. The Hirohata Merc, arguably one of the most influential customs of all time. This beautiful '50 Buick. The Blue Danube '52 Buick. And Sams personal '49 Merc. Post up your favorites works!

I'm sure there are worse kits, but not that I've built. This is the only kit I've owned that has ended hits life beneath a dead blow hammer out of sheer frustration.

I feel your pain. It's such a buzz kill when things go wrong. Paint perfect, decals perfect, clear..................... wrinkles the decals and the whole thing ends up on the dip. I did the same thing. Built a half dozen flat or weathered cars and then back to trying the shiny again. Don't give up. Come back to it later.
