  1. Yes please do. In my opinion this grill has a Max Max feel to it, not "weathered hot rod". Remember 1mm = 1 scale inch so those grill bars are as big as a tailpipe, which doesn't look in scale. Maybe down size to 1/16" rod and add a few more?
  2. John, Daniel, those are two seriously stellar builds. Awesome hot rods.
  3. Looks great. How about telling us more about it? How ya did this & that?
  4. Nice work. I had a chance to get one of these at a swap meet last year. I regret not picking it up.
  5. As long as you are doing so with such excellent builds, by all means pummel away.
  6. I long ago decided that the cost of this hobby is nothing compared to the cost of many hobbies I could have gotten into. Should the cost of a new kit go up to $50, I would still build. I break it down to entertainment over time. When it takes you a couple of months or more to complete a model (like it does for me) even $50 doesn't seem like that much for the enjoyment I get building it. Round 2 is bringing back old favorites, Revell is creating new and extremely well done new tooling as well as their older kits. Mobius has joined in the scale auto market and is creating well crafted kits unlike anything we have seen. The Japanese companies are considering dabbling in the American muscle genre. Frankly I have never been happier with the modeling market as I am right now. We are seeing a true scale auto renaissance. If some people are too stupid to see this or are only happy when they have something to complain about, just ignore them. I would hope that sales figures show the model companies how we feel more than what they see on the forums.
  7. As surprised as I am to say this, the '40 headlights look the best. But I would still the sand away the top indicator lights for a smoother look and then re-chrome.
  8. Yeah! keep it going!
  9. Most impressive.
  10. Very nice. It looks quite authentic.
  11. I'll try to remember Jim.
  12. Thanks guys.
  13. Thanks guys, I'll track down which kit it likely can from from this info.
  14. No tailgate, I added wood slats in some channel stock for the build.
  15. Is this bed from? I used in a build after getting it in a junkyard lot of parts.
  16. Yep, that takes the term half-track to a whole new level. Very cool piece.
  17. Perhaps some have known about this since March, but I just found out yesterday that Overhaulin' returns with an all new (read: not reruns) season on October 2. Chip Foose and that irritating/way creepy Chris fella, both return with the A-Team, and a new co-hostess. http://www.chipfoose.com/ws_display.asp?filter=Home What are your thoughts on this? Foose has both fans and detractors here I know. Personally I'm looking forward to it, I especially enjoy the reveal when grown men come unglued. It's gonna be cool.
  18. That may be. But he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who cares. And if Revell can increase sales by doing some Foosed up kits, I'm all for it.
  19. Need you ask? If this has radically lowered suspension and a modern power plant it will end up under sooooo many hot rods. I like most of Chips work, with the exception of the side mirror deletion.
  20. "Yes officer, I saw the getaway car. It was a black van with a white top." Nice work.
  21. As a puchaser I don't want "close enough" on anything. Simple as that.
