  2. The pond? Why? The gold looked great!
  3. Good work guys. Sorry you had a poor turnout, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

I love this! This reminds me of all the CarToons inspired models I built as a teen. Always keep this model. Don't throw it away or rebuild it. It will show you where you came from and how far you have come. I have something similar in my collection and it never fails to put a smile on my face. Maybe I'll build another one.
  5. For rattle cans I've had good results from Tamiya, Testors one coat lacquers, Duplicolor and Krylon.
  6. My opinion? SUCK. Keep goin tho, I love the gold.
  7. Stunning!
  8. Oh yeah, I like where this is going.
  9. This kit is the AMT I believe and one just dropped in my lap, with a build request from a family member. However those wheels are buggin me. I have never seen the like in 1:1. What are they? Anyone?
  10. Oh man the clamshelled fender idea is perfect. I'm gonna steal that one for sure in the future. Nice work.
  11. I have a near identical build planned. Great work.
  12. Pete, this is absolutely stunning work. You're a true artist.
  13. Rather than chime in on this debate I'd just like to say a big thank you to Revell, Model King, Round 2 and everyone else (aftermarket companies, resin casters) who helped make the last ten years one of the best decades in the history of scale auto modeling. Nuff said.
  14. Great idea. Fantastic work.

    Well done. Looks very authentic.
  16. Fantastic work. Great replica.
  17. That looks fantastic.
  18. $12! Yikes. That's most of the cost of the model. I'll try to contact R2.
  19. I think we can all agree that Round 2 has really done us proud on the quality and quantity of their decal sheets. So here is a question. Is there anywhere or anyone we can contact to acquire JUST the decal sheets? The Challenger F/C and the new Austin gasser stand out in my mind having decal sheets I'd like to lay my hands on. However I'm not particularly interested in building either kit. My kit stash has just doubled due to my uncle entering a care center, and leaving me his kits. So I can just imagine the WTF look from my wife were I to suggest buying more kits, just for the decals. I've emailed folks that have built the Challenger in the hopes of snagging the leftovers, to no avail. Any hope for me?
  20. For me? Yes. When it's in the case, it's done. Usually when I'm planning a build, I start with the idea. Then I grab a plastic tray and head for my parts bins. I pull everything that might go with the idea. Bag everything. Build model. That way there is no second guessing later. Now I'm not saying that there aren't circumstances for me like you described occasionally, but it usually involves a "I'd really like this style side mirror for this build", so the model is done and the mirrors added when they finally are located. As for dusting your models, thats great. Dust is a killer of paint jobs. However with no other options, I really do recommend the acrylic model cases. With the 40% off coupon they are only $4.50 at Michaels. Buy one every paycheck and soon your whole collection will be saved the hazards of dusting and you can stack them, so more models per shelf.
  21. I have a few. Nothing heart stopping but I"m fond of them. 67 Chevelle 69GTO 73 Cougar 67 Charger 64 GTO

That looks fantastic. As good as it gets. Great work.
  23. Dropped a side mirror prior to gluing it in place. Spent an hour searching. Got the wife and kids involved and searched for another hour. But it was just flat gone. Found it the next day glued to my shoe.
