  1. Apparently, these were developed around 1961 by the GoodYear tire company and almost made into production. https://www.classiccarcollection.org/goodyears-glowing-tires/ And you thought their Blimp with glowing words was wild!
  2. Great color choices.
  3. I don't know about the gasoline, but I'm crazy about that Mercury!
  4. I love it! Very Art Deco. Reminds me of something Bill Mitchell would've done, and he would have driven the wheels off it!
  5. Neither one of them is great. Both were modified and retooled back, so the details are wonky. MPC was brought back from a dirt tracker and has discernable fender eye brows and bug eye headlights. During the Racing Champion days, the AMT was converted to a 70 and then converted BACK to a 72, but the grille and headlight detail isn't as good as it was prior to the 70 redo. If R2 would spend a little money to improve either of them then it would be worthwhile, but since they've reissued the 70 two or three times already, I doubt they'll do much with them now.
  6. I guess they should have called this kit a "Top Fooler"
  7. Sweet build, even without the interior. You're right, there were episodes where the windows were blacked out, so your tint is plausible. I have a few of these kits (or is it kitts?) and to me, the black paint has to be flawless to represent the protective shield that was stated on many episodes of the show. You've done the "Hoff" proud with this one! Don't forget to add it to the TV/Movie cars thread.
  8. Did it stunt your growth?! ?
  9. Thanks for the favorable responses, guys. I can post more, if you'd like to see them. I enjoy them myself.
  10. Let's hope Gramp's pacemaker didn't short out when our young hero fired this beast up! And let's not forget to include that bastion of performance - the mighty Gremlin!
  11. Either a really cool mom, or somebody got a smokin' deal on a car nobody else wanted! What Maindrian Pace drives when he's not stealing and wrecking Mustangs!
  12. Gotta love that award winning velvet and button-tuck upholstery.
  13. They were very common. Maybe not cheap, but a must have item for any true performance aficionado! Probably no different from the thousands of dollars drivers spend on wheels and tires today.
  14. Blown engine #3 "Hey, I watch Starsky and Hutch!" This shot would sell Challengers as well as Dodge's ad agency could! I think I saw this one on a calendar once.
  15. Nothing like a few beers, som hand tools and a little "backyard butchering" to improve a car. The final result. At least they finished it! Pretty sure this was a Car Craft Magazine cover.
  16. Ouch! Think this 'Cuda survived any better than the one it replaced? No wonder there's so few of them left. Teenagers were ruthless. Check this one out - that's a Shelby! Doubtful it's a clone, just a used car.
  17. Actually, if you replace the front half of the roof with something closer to OEM, it wouldn't look too bad for a funny car body. That windshield is too sloped back. Looks like it came from a 90s Camaro.
  18. Nice build and good information on the movie car. I never knew it was built from a GTO. Glad you won an award for it. I'm sure Ron Howard was there to vote for it personally!
  19. Run with it! Looks like it came out smooth. Don't tempt fate trying to change the color.
