  1. I wouldn't even have a problem with it being a simple slammer model with crazy stance and wide wheels, as long as the body is stock. They could name it "Non-Dairy Screamer" or "Moo Juicer"
  2. I'm lost as to what Round 2s criteria was for the "hint". Can somebody refresh my remembry?
  3. That's what I'm talkin' 'bout guys! Keep it up!
  4. Most of these modern interpretations remind me of this...
  5. I've got the body corrected and finally got a decent paint job on it, but I'm not 100% satisfied and I got a little burnt out on it from the stress of trying to fix it. Here's where it is so far. I may have to work on the front bumper, doesn't look pointy enough for me. Comments?
  6. If that's true, the guy has a limited palette. Reminds me of the Brady Bunch movie, where every building Mike Brady designs ends up looking like the BB house!
  7. True, which is why I didn't include it. Same with the first Smokey movie.
  8. Worst car I've ever had is the Suburban my wife uses. She wanted a big truck for safety, so we got this one. Looked great on the lot and had low miles. It suits our needs perfectly, but the parts quality is ----. Everything has had to be replaced, some of it twice! Alternator 2x, water pump, radiator 2x, power steering pump 2x, front brakes 2x, rear brakes, O2 sensors, control arms, entire steering system, A/C compressor 2x, A/C system 1x, all 4 window regulators and motors, blower motor and resistor 2x, fuel pump 3x, fuel injectors and entire fuel system. Rear diff is making noise, but has been doing that for decades so I'll worry about that when it dies. Now there is rust bubbling up in a weird place - the roof, right above the windshield. Makes no sense, because we're in a dry part of California and there is no rust anywhere else on this thing! Just poorly made parts from a company that thinks I'll just buy another car from them again. The only reasons we haven't gotten rid of it is we can't afford a new car, my wife only wants a big, safe truck like this and I don't have a lot of choices for a quality made SUV like she wants. Good side of it is, at almost 200k, the original engine and trans run like brand new, so it's not like I haven't been trying to take care of it. It's just all the smaller parts from outside sources that just don't build things to last. Saving grace is that I've learned how to practically rebuild this entire vehicle by myself. Unlike the new cars made today. When it does get replaced, I plan on using the engine and trans in another car, maybe my project car in the garage, as I know how it runs.
  9. Great pictures, you're making me drool. But sadly, the Hornet was a Johan tool, which is gone bye-bye. The Get Smart Sunbeam would be cool, hopefully Round 2 can find the missing pieces someday. Which, by the way, when was the last time that kit was reissued? Maybe it's time for another run.
  10. Interesting. CarburetorS? Chrome exhaust PIPES? The kit I built only had one carburetor and the only chrome exhaust it had was the tips! Me thinks there may be a loss in the translation. Goes to reason, what do they mean by "Decal for three versions from feature films"? I can think of Rocky 2 and Smokey and the Bandit 2 (wait, that was a Turbo T/A, which this kit is not). What other films used a 1979 or 80 T/A? "The Hunter" with Steve McQueen? Not so famous. Joe Dirt? Tenth Anniversary, but it had turbine wheels, which this kit also doesn't have. I'm having a tough time figuring out what THREE feature films they're talking about. Any clues?
  11. If we were building as kids, I think we all have "fudged" on the accuracy of the details. I remember when I wasn't concerned with suspension parts being intact and using plastic tabs with holes drilled into them, glued to the chassis just to hold the wire axles in place. So I could just simply roll it around to play with it. Hey, at least I could adjust the ride height where I wanted it easier! I even made a 4x4 stance on a pickup using long tabs and NO suspension whatsoever! Life was simpler then.
  12. That's why I've decided I'm not going until I finish ALL my kits! That solves that problem.
  13. Nova and Rambler? In fact, I've thought about buying a Rambler and taking it to shows to see how many people think it is a Nova.
  14. Personally, I find that Jensen took a few liberties from the Avanti when designing their Interceptor.
  15. Actually, I see a LOT of 58 Edsel in the front. And some Lincoln Continental in the back.
  16. I think you meant 61 Lincoln. Otherwise, I would GUARANTEE the 64 Imperial owes it's existence to the 61 Imperial! One had to lead to the other.
  17. She was also Mrs. Potato head on Toy Story. She did great characters!
  18. Nah, check again, it's Michael J. Fox from "Teen Wolf"! ?
  19. Tim, I'm so glad you're here sharing old builds and model history for folks here who may have never seen these cars before and maybe some of us who forgot about them. Thanks.
  20. Bump! It's been a while for this one and I've been seeing quite a few builders post cars and trucks that fit this theme, so I'm hoping to get some of you guys to add your builds here!
  21. I think it looks great, too! Movie rig wasn't a showpiece, so the model doesn't have to be perfect.
  22. I could only hope!!!
  23. When the 928s were new I thought - Uggh, what's that? Over time, I've grown to like it. Just don't put the headlights on, otherwise "Kermit just got stomped on!" IIRC, it was actually supposed to be the replacement for the 911, but public reaction was so strong for the old car that both were retained and sold.
