  1. Nice to see one of these done, great job on it!
  2. Finally adding a proper Decepticon to my 1/24 Transformers collection. The cab and chassis are Italeri's Volvo F12 kit, converted to a dual drive and given a small facelift. The mixer is from the AMT Kenworth/Challenge kit, with the parts rearranged to better fit the Volvo chassis. Lots of scratchbuilding and kitbashing to get everything to fit together, then painted Design Master Olive Bright and Tamiya TS-24 Purple to recreate the iconic Constructicon colors. A full writeup of the build is available here, and as always any comments/criticisms are welcome! ...and for anyone not familiar with the source material, here it is with the character that inspired it:
  3. You're right on that. Plus, the Auslowe set is better than most I've seen. But this type of latch has always looked a little flat to me when done in PE, and I find adding some thin styrene to correct the flange shape is an easier task for me. I have a feeling it's a YMMV situation, so just throwing out some further options.
  4. Excellent job on this! Thanks also for detailing the colors you used, it's very helpful.
  5. One other thing to add re:door handles. These are available from Don Mills Models, sold through his eBay store. Just look for "Rectangular Slam Locks" and they should come up. I've used them in the past, and they're very sharply done with a nice thin flange so your cutouts can have a little wiggle room.
  6. Yes, they retired. Their last day for orders was November 30, 2022.
  7. Excellent work, that turned out great!
  8. Great build and pics!
  9. Very clean work, nice job!
  10. Not much technique for that part, I'm afraid: I happened to have a set of big & little tires in my parts box with nice sharp raised ribs on the sidewalls. Some Apple Barrel "Candy Apple" red acrylic paint applied with a toothpick was all they needed.
  11. Great looking pair, very clean work!
  12. Excellent job on the restoration, it turned out great!
  13. Fantastic work!
  14. Coming into this late, but wanted to say nice work getting it cleaned up. My own F9 Charger is in pretty good shape, about like the one Geno posted, but Jada has definitely been falling off with their QC recently. I have two of their R34 Skylines, one new and one from a few years back...the old one is fine, but the new one is a mess. The fog lights are crammed in at weird angles, the doors don't fit, and the trunk lid barely fits the opening. Even the paint is rough, like it was partially painted outside on a windy day. Glad you could save this one!
  15. Thanks! It's amazing how much of a game changer 3D printing has been in this hobby. The figure I have with my Warthog was made by a digital artist and produced by Valykrie Hobby.
  16. Awesome job on this!
