  1. Some outstanding scratchuilding there, nice work!
  2. Thanks, guys! Sign me up, a '64 Dart has been on my "wanted" list for years!
  3. Very clean work, this looks great!
  4. Beautiful work on both!
  5. Thanks, guys! Fair point, and what I usually see when most people are talking about this car. I wanted a slightly different take on her, more of a former badass who retired into street racing (my favorite backstory at the moment is that she was a WASP in WWII). I was trying for something similar to Bette Davis in Dead Ringer, with a little Valentina Tereshkova thrown in.
  6. Good looking group!
  7. Nice and clean, this looks great!
  8. Some fantastic progress, looking forward to seeing more in color! Thanks all for the kind words!
  9. Thanks, guys! And madness. It was definitely powered by madness. ?
  10. Hats off to your efforts here, these look great! I built the AMT rebox of this kit, so I know all too well how much work you had to put in to get them to look as nice as they do. I went with wheels from a Danbury Mint diecast, bumpers from Italeri's 250GT California, and a black paint job that hid some of the body flaws I couldn't/didn't correct.
  11. I built this for the 2021 "Cannonball Ruse" CBP (starts here, and still ongoing!). It started as Lindberg's "Maverick" '64 Dodge 330 Super Stock, built as a sleeper with a few extra performance upgrades. The 426 is now supercharged with a unit from AMT's '57 Ford, wheels and tires are Plastic Performance Products, and as a last added kick it has a Turbonique from Alan Raab. I also included a figure of the Lady herself, a Hendrix Mfg Co. resin figure with a vintage helmet from Fujimi's Driver set. A full writeup of what went into it is available here, and as always any comments/criticisms are welcome.
  12. Thanks, guys! Glad to have been a part of this one, and thanks also for hosting it! I'm looking forward to seeing more from the other racers.
  13. Looks fantastic, nicely done!
  14. ...and she's done! The Little Old Lady from Pasadena looks nice and unassuming in her pretty little no-frills Dodge: The tires are a bit wide, maybe, but with those steelies and dog dish caps (thanks for the trade, Sam I Am!) it likely won't get a second glance. But under the hood... ...a Supercharged 426 Hemi, all tucked up nice & neat so nothing stands out. Track tested and proven, it should have no problem running all day long. Inside is equally low-key, stripped of anything noncritical and painted black so the exposed sheetmetal and roll bar don't stand out to any passers-by. The auxilliary gauges have been moved to the transmission tunnel just to keep the dash neat. But it still needed something more. One final, borderline crazy, last ditch ace-in-the-hole so if it came down to the last quarter mile she could be sure nothing could beat her. That ought to do it! Turbonique by Alan Raab, with additional bracing and various lines to it scratch built. I removed the stock fuel tank (a larger unit could be mounted in the trunk) and made a heat-shielded pocket for the turbine out of styrene and Duck tape. The Lady with her ride:
  15. I swear, you gotta write a book with all these in it. I have so many bookmarks of "Snake45 fixes..."
  16. Nicely done! I've built a couple of Nitto kits and while the subjects are always interesting they can be tricky thanks to their age and extra "play" features.
  17. Awesome work, that looks great!
  18. Same here, Rodger Dodger is one of those that just looks "right." I also had the Dixie Challenger, though one of my favorite decos is when they used it in their Cop Rods series. Nice to see it in 1/24, I'm hoping to try one myself some day.
  19. There were a couple of resin kits of Racer X's Shooting Star made years ago, but the only one I've found lately has had a $500 price tag and seller unwilling to budge. I'm tempted to just make one out of a Chaparral kit.

    synkro

Well played, using the Supra as a base for Synkro. I especially like the wheels, how did you make those?
  21. Nicely done, especially considering how it started! My only TKM is still in its box as well.
  22. Both look great, I forgot how much I like the look of the Daytona with the extra lights.
  23. Looking good, especially that cage! Getting close now...
