Woseley Horney/Riley Elf would be great, traveller would be a great model to have, infact I would buy any Mini models they released, but I'd much prefer them to turn the MK2 into an S type, a much under rated Jag'

Either of them would go down well with me, Mehari's were everywhere in Spain, but thinking outside the box, if Ebbro could work with some of the other Tamiya kits, we could have a Fiat 500 Jolly, and they could do something with the Tamiya Mini kits,

That was a Reliant Regal Supervan 3, not a Robin, my first job when I left school back in 1978 was working for a Reliant dealer, those Robin's are fun things to drive ....

Nice, I love these old Morgans, cracking work on the dash Harry, can't wait to see the progress on this one ....

I just had to have one, and might get another later if they do make it over here, while I was growing up in Spain, every small business had either one of these, or a Renault 4 van, Simca 1100 van or the later Citroen Arcadian.

Well no point in doing half a job ....

I had mine on order from HLJ since it was announced at the German Toy Fair,a lot of places are already sold out, and it's not available here in the U.K until later this month.

No Harry, you can either have them fixed in the open or closed position, but they don't have functioning hinges

This is a brand new model released by Ebbro, and is a co-operation between them and Tamiya, the model has new moldings for the cab, front & rear doors, van body and clear parts, the rest of the kit, engine, gearbox, tyres and wheels, plus the front seats and dash are all from the Tamiya 2CV kit, after you have built the model, you will have a few parts to go into the spares box. The decals included in the kit are for a French car specialist in England, based in Weybridge, Surry, http://www.grovegarageweybridge.co.uk/ or with using the french number plates supplied you can build it as a un-liveried French van that were used by most small business at the time, I wish Ebbro had supplied some better decals to go with this kit, hopefully the aftermarket companies will come to the rescue. The front doors and the van rear doors can be fixed in the open or closed position, but they can't be made to function as supplied as they are, but still a nice function to have on a model, I've never built an Ebbro kit before, but the instructions are typical Tamiya, included in the instructions is a small correction as the seats in the instructions are marked incorrectly, the left seat should actually be the right, and the right is actually the left .....

Started to do the flocking on the floor and got the back of the rear seat flocked, as the real thing has carpet on the back of the seat

How to get that great finish?
GeeBee replied to John Pol's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Yes I missed that bit out, but kind of took it as normal to wash the body and keep the work area and spray booth clean, after the primer coats has been wetsanded, and left to dry, before the first colour coats goes on, I go over the body and body parts with panel wipe on a lint free cloth, then I go over the body with a tack cloth, all these items should be available at any motor factors or body repair shop ... -

I'll try and explain what I do using photo's Bodyshell sanded to remove any flash and mold line, a few coats of plastic primer, then wet sanded using 3600 grit paper, if you have any marks or defects in the primer coat no matter what you do, it's going to show through the colour coats I use cellulose lacquer, but most paints work the same, cellulose just sets quicker and needs a little more polishing, a few mist coats, then build up the coats until the coverage is good, then I usually go over with a good wet coat Although the paint looks good, you can see on the bonnet the orange peel, but that's not a problem, I leave my paint to harden for at least 48 hours, then it's on with the wetsanding, again starting with 3600, then 4000, and finish off with 6000 Once the paint is levelled out, I start the polishing process, first I use the compound that comes in the Micro Mesh polishing kit, then different grades of automotive polishing, starting the Poorboys SSR2, then finishing with meguires swirl X, if you've got it right, you should end up with the paint looking like this -
I tried the brush inside the lid, but I find a 10/0 artist brush much better

Thanks, got the rear seat bases fitted, the rear seat rest still has to be flocked on the rear .....

Well just under a week since I've last posted here, not a lot of work has been done to the little 356, I got the dash finished today, apart from the grab handle that needs to go by the glovebox lid, The interior is coming on o.k, but I have had to order some more adhesive in, so I can't do anymore until that arrives Gearlever detailed

The original Routemaster didn't have that hole in the floor, the photo you have is of an old Routemaster (RM125) run by the WRVS as a playbus, as the rear door had a door fitted, a hole was cut in the floor above the engine cover for a quick exit from upstairs, the Routemasters run in service didn't have this fitted
