  1. That turned out real nice Ken!?
  2. Nice save on that one Dan! It turned out great.?
  3. Nice build Gustavo. I remember watching this show because of Heather Thomas.?
  4. That did turn out nice Steve, I sure like the engine upgrade. A little bit too much shiny on a truck for my liking…but that’s just me.?
  5. Excellent job Mike. The colour suits it perfectly and the photos are really well done too.?
  6. Sports is something at which I was always a little deficient.
  7. Nice project Andy. That welder looks great!?
  8. Thanks for the offer Dennis. I just looked and my Mobius F100 kit has a set I could have used…..but I had already committed myself to building these.
  9. Thanks Steve! It is just the rear hatch that I glued since it still had a bit of a twist in it. The roof will still be removable I hope.
  10. Thanks Guys! This is a good kit to practice my scratch building skills on.?
  11. Really nice work on that interior Dennis. Very crafty getting those door cards to mate up nicely.?
  12. Looks like a great idea!?
  13. Thanks John. I am by no means a paint expert. If I get a good result, it is as much luck as talent.? Most of my paint jobs are air brushed either with Tamiya or Mr. Hobby laquers, or decanted spray bombs. For clears I have used Mr. Hobby, Revell, Tamiya and one spray bomb I got from a local body shop supplier. I don’t polish anything.? Thanks Dennis! Thanks Bruce! Thanks Bob, they are from the kit. Thanks Steve! Thanks Bill. The Chevelle is probably my best work so far. Jeep is Mr. Color Russet.
  14. I have not done this particular operation. I did make a scraper tool for insetting the windows on this ‘36 ford that might work?
  15. Happened though it did… accidentally.
  16. And a related thread on building headers from copper wire. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/167575-building-exhaust-headers-from-copper/#comment-2545863
  17. I have used both 0.100” styrene rod and 3/32” o.d. tube with some soft wire inside. The wire keeps it from collapsing when bending and also helps keep the shape after bending. I have made my own mufflers and here is my thread on that process. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/162370-making-mufflers/#comment-2426201 The best thing about the mufflers is that the position of the pipes can be adjusted before being glued solid. And here are some pics of my scratch built systems. T-Bird Jeepster. These were just single 0.156” tube mufflers if I recall. Willys Blazer
  18. Sweet! Some nice work going on here.?
  19. Champagne and caviar to me does not sound appealing.
  20. Cool!?
  21. Thanks Guys!?
  22. And I wound up glueing the hatch shut.?
  23. I made a cheap set of shock absorbers for it and got the interior installed and body mounted on the frame. I got some of the detailing done, and still a bit more to do. I have to scratch build some side mirrors yet and I see I forgot the center rear view mirror.? That’s all for now.
  24. Thanks Guys! That Big Block is a tight fit!? I should have lowered the alternator a bit to get it away from the radiator inlet. I had to put a 90 degree fitting on the rad hose, but that’s typical of me, not enough preliminary mock-up work.?
  25. You mean aluminum PAINT I take it? Yeah, that does not make a good primer. Even if there was primer under that, the tape may still pull the paint away from the aluminum.
