  1. It’s looking good Donny. I think it needs some panel line accent in the door and trunk seams though. I like to do it before paint, but it can be done after too. If you don’t have any, you can make some by thinning some flat or SG black paint.
  2. Outstanding work on the engine bay!😎
  3. This is coming along nicely Michael.👍 I like that color on it.😎
  4. Thanks Jon!🙂 Thank you Elliot. I am retired though and that sounds like a four letter word.😬 Sorry.🥴 Edit: That’s kinda why I blather on about how I do some things. There are many members here who are far above my skill level, but maybe there are some newbie’s or younger ones who want to expand their skills that might benefit from my own misadventures. Plus, I am fairly recently back to the hobby so some of my methods and ideas are unorthodox and half baked which may lead folks to think outside the box.🙂
  5. Great work you are doing here Jon!👍 I think you are a man after my own heart…some stuff just needs fixin!😜
  6. I wasn’t real happy with the profile of the headlight buckets so a did a little sanding on them. It’s a hugely subtle difference in my eye. The other thing that needed fixing was the windshield frame. There was no ledge at the top for the glass to sit against. I filed the bad section flush to the outside of the frame and added some 0.040” half round, sanded it a bit flatter and blended the joints. I think I have all the major body issues resolved now so I went and shot some primer on it to see where I stand. Thanks for the encouragement and interest fellas!😎
  7. Here’s a video of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHYbNhLImJg
  8. Ask him if he has any scale cleco pins too.😜 Seriously…nice progress Len and some great problem solving going on here. The Boss is gonna look good in there!😎
  9. Thanks Dan. The grill doesn’t look too bad I think.🤔 Some black wash will hopefully help. The problem is that the hood should close down flush behind the grill, not on top of it. I don’t care to get involved with that repair though.🤯 I added a center bar from .040” Evergreen and glued the hood halves together. The magnets I installed earlier this morning probably aren’t even necessary now.
  10. But I can paste it into the link option above so that at least eliminates having to paste it into notebook and re-copying it. Thanks ! https://www.hemmings.com/stories/lost-concept-cars-the-shelby-cobra-based-ford-cougar-ii/
  11. If I copy an address bar from another website and try to paste it directly into the text here I get these options and if I click on “paste” nothing happens.
  12. If I copy a link from my note pad and paste it here I get this window: And it appears as a clickable link only. https://www.hemmings.com/stories/lost-concept-cars-the-shelby-cobra-based-ford-cougar-ii/
  13. If I copy the address bar from another website, then click on the link option in this reply window, I get this: And it appears like this in my reply: https://www.hotrod.com/how-to/mopp-0109-chryslers-poly-head-engine
  14. I have seen that black bar previously and I usually just hit the “x” to close it unless it is a link to another website. Then I will choose “display as a link instead”.
  15. Well this time I held my finger on the thread title until a window popped up that offered the option to “copy link” instead of doing it in the address bar at the top of the page and it worked….from this forum.
  16. Try a different way…nope. https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/204206-%E2%80%9839-chevy-by-duval/
  17. The link still does not want to expand into a small clickable window though. https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/204206-‘39-chevy-by-duval/#comment-3087867
  18. Ok, I tried using the link at the top of the compose window and it appears to have worked for pasting the alphanumeric link. I did mention that I am on an iPad in a previous query in this thread. Thanks. https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/191128-can’t-paste-links/#comment-3090840
  19. Fantastic work so far Dennis!👍 If that wiring and throttle linkage is keeping it simple, what do you call extreme?🤪
  20. Can a moderator tell me why I can’t copy a link from the address bar and paste it into a thread here? I have no issues doing it on other forums that I am on. Thanks in advance…Greg.
  21. This whole forum is a place for build ideas.🙂 I started a thread for inspirational photos (real or fake) of trucks. https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/203500-trucks-i’d-like-to-build😎/
  22. I can’t recall what brand they were. Trumpeter maybe? I know they were not expensive. I have probably seven or eight sets of files. That particular one is my favourite. I ground the edges to angle away from the cutting face so that it can get up tight to a corner or edge. Edit: Good (cheap) files can be hit or miss. Even the one above has no teeth on one side of one end.😕
  23. And don’t forget! (Like Bill alluded to).
  24. Thanks! I probably use this one file as much or more than my hobby knives.
  25. Yes, 0.030” half round is the smallest that Evergreen or Plastruct make, so I had to make my own smaller bead from 0.020” round. The trick is to scrape it down to size versus trying to cut or slice it. I used two feeler guages as a depth stop to get the thickness uniform. You know what they say…necessity is the mother of invention.🤓
