I’ve made a bunch of them the same way, but only about 4”x5”. That way they fit in the dehydrator easily. Scratching posts might have catnip in them so if you have cats it may not be a good idea.

Thanks Tim. Unfortunately AMT shorted the wheelbase by four inches on this kit and stretching it is not feasible, so it will never look as sleek as it should.😕 I’ll do my best to put a decent paint job on it so I can put it on the shelf.

I added some resin backing plates and drums to the parts box steelies. I’ll add the hubcaps as a final step. The interior is finished too.

I think I would rather build another ‘41 Plymouth than this thing. At least the Plymouth is fixable with a bit of putty (ok…a lot) and sanding. I might be developing an allergy too.🥵

Thanks for the offer Alan. This kit actually has two tail lights, the spare tire cover and five hub caps.

Believe me, they DO bounce on carpet too…but silently like little ninja escape artists.🤬

This is looking great!😎

You could tape the decals in place where they need to be, then mark the seams that need to be cut, and cut them into chunks before applying them? The paint won’t show through the black decals as bad as the white ones, so touch-ups if necessary won’t be as obvious.

I am working on the fender right now Len and that’s going to be about it for fixes. The seat is period correct so that’s good enough for me.🙂

Thanks Jim. I am not going to bother with the character line.🥴 I thought the whole car looked a little short and fat…so I just measured the wheelbase and it comes out to 108-1/4”. According to my research, all 1937 Chevy cars were built on a 112-1/4” wheelbase, so this kit cannot be made to look accurate without splicing two kits together. That really irks me🤬, so I am just going to slap a bit more lipstick on it and get it off the bench.😕 I’m glad I didn’t get into fixing the grill to hood transition before finding this out…I did give it some thought.🤯 Edit: Removing those vent windows may help alleviate the stubby look?🤔

Great work so far Scott! I like all the communications equipment on board so that Santa can get the latest updates to who’s on the naughty list.😳

I started to scratch build a transmission tunnel and then decided it would be easier to steal one from a kit that I am planning to never build.🤓 I don’t like the size or shape of the seat so I stole one from a ‘36 Ford that just needed a bit of filing on the sides to squeeze it into place. I also added new pedals and a more positive mounting setup for the dash.

Thanks Chris. I didn’t notice the front fender contour as it is hidden by the bumper in most of the photos I’ve downloaded. I did fix it but it is not going to be visible. A more visible problem is the rear wheel opening. It is not a smooth radius and the drivers side is worse than the passenger side.🧐 The fender is a bit too tall and not flat enough on the top, but that is something I will just have to ignore. I will correct the radius somewhat though.

Nice work on that rear suspension.👍

Looking good Rich!😎 Nice work grafting that sunroof in there.👍

Looks like great raw material to me!😎

If you have to slit it, try shrinking it on a scrap piece of whatever the rollbar is made of, or wire the same size. Then slit it and install it on your rollbar. It might work?
