I’ve been sitting here with the tv showing a blue screen for a couple hours, and after another 1/2+ hour on hold with tech, I was elevated to “level two” tech and spoke to the same woman that I spoke to this afternoon just before everything stopped working. She said there was no one scheduled to come out tonight and she shows everything as working. So I turn around and look… and the tv is booting up. She wouldn’t admit that she did anything wrong this afternoon, but I suspect she messed up the reset somehow? Everything works now except the replacement PVR, so they are supposedly sending out a serviceman tomorrow.🥴

Bell/MTS!🤬 I have 3 pvr boxes and one of them recently quit working. It’s happened before and like last time I was told I need to get a newer box. No biggie…I went and swapped it out at a fairly close by B/MTS store. Well it would’nt work. Spent well over an hour on the phone with tech support switching cables and unplugging/plugging things in. They eventually agreed to (after 3 requests) to send a tech out tomorrow. Well shortly after I hung up I realized that nothing works anymore.🤯 None of my three pvrs, not my internet, not my security cams, or my wifi. I called back and they said they could have someone here by 8pm today. Well it’s 7:15 and I’m not optimistic.😡

I’ve found notes I left to myself that I have no idea what I meant.😳

Won’t ammonia harm some types of clear finishes? I’ve never used it, but assumed it was fairly powerful stuff?

I think those headlight bezels could be foiled after they are installed Bob. Just a thought. -
Very interesting! I’ll follow along.😎

With the Permatex 5 minute epoxy that I use, I would expect that I could wait no longer than 3 minutes +/- before it would be too “set” for any part to be added. If I was to use this method, I would mix up a test batch, spread a thin line out and try every 15 or 30 seconds (assuming 5min epoxy) to stick a piece of sprue to it. Record the results so you know what wait time is optimal. I’m pretty sure Steve must have done this?

Keyboards are a great tool for exercising your dexterity…unless like me you type using only one finger.

Looking for replacement blades
NOBLNG replied to dragstk's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The OP is looking for new blades, not handles, I assume the blade he has is worn out. I suggest he contact Tamia to see if the 74160 blades will fit his existing handle. If not then…yeah he needs a new handle or a different brand of scriber. -
The suggestion for epoxy or watch crystal cement sound good for a painted surface. I try to pin tiny parts before painting….if I remember to. You could practice all these techniques by attaching bits of sprue to a scrap body or something to see which works best for you.

There is careless and then there is completely stupid…🙄 I was thinking about it last night and came up with the same idea using aluminum. It is top of my to do list when I get home later this week.

Dodge stupidbee.

I really like these sawblades. They make a nice aluminum handle for them, but I just trimmed the shank a touch so they would fit a regular exacto handle. They are like a photo etch blade but far more sturdy.

Yeah, this mitre box has slots that are too wide for my liking. I use it a lot with my razor saw, but have to hold the saw flush to one side or I get a slightly crooked cut.😕 I’ve been meaning to modify it somehow but just never got around to it yet.

Those “industrial accidents” were not created by the Dremel. They were created by careless operators. The tools function is entirely predictable. I have had minor injuries over the years and I don’t blame the tools. Edit: Lack of proper PPE falls under “careless operators”.
