The Official EBay Discussion Thread
Spruslayer replied to iamsuperdan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Heres my ebay horror story, this is more paypals fault, ebay is just where it started. Once apon a time their was this guy who introduced the I-phone,and what a success it was/is.So back then when the phone was released i was a very minor seller of stuff on ebay and i had all the things needed to participate,a email address,an ebay account and a paypal account that was linked to my hometown bank.So some person in Vietnam hacked all the nessary things from me and proceded to shop.bought a phone ,some accessories to the tune of almost $600. At the time i didn't monitor my accounts everyday but would check every 2 or 3 days which i now know thats a bad idea.In 3 days i chalked up over $500 in NSF fees on top of what my Vietnamese friend spent before i found out and stoped it.Paypal did refund all the funds for the merch but did not cover the NFS fees, said it was my banks problem and my bank said it was paypals problem.all said and done i was stuck paying all the fees.Needless to say that was the end of my relationship with PP and i never sold anymore on ebay. These days i will buy on ebay and have been lucky so far i have always received what i paid for. Pay Pal,the safer way to pay was the slogan at the time, just be sure to read the 400 page legal agreement i singed which did state PP wil not be responsible for any fees should their be an issue -

Paint Booths & Safe Ventilation?
Spruslayer replied to Synister's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
The super mini has worked perfect, pulls the overspray and the smells completely out and i really dont have to be in the unit for it to draw,as long as i dont get more than 8 to 10 inches away. When using spray bombs the filter life is shortened but i suspect any spray booth would do the same. The light is nice but at a hundred more i thought by the time i rig something for a light i would spend about half that so i supered it! -
'61 Pontiac Monte Carlo - For Sale!

I can see that tubed out, slammed with a sweet candy paint with flames coming from the fender vents, and lose that blue stripe! ?? and a hemi just for good measure! -
Thank you Dave, after reading this thread i looked at my supply and was needing alcohol and was about to drop 30 for a gallon!?
-
The thinner i mix is about 2/3 distiled water, 1/3 99% isopropyl alcohol amd about 4 or five drops per ounce of flow improver and fluid retarder. The alcohol can be expensive but im still miles ahead of the premix brands.

I have used some of the Createx colors and have had no issues with them.I thin with a home brew thinner and the near by Hobby Lobby has a nice selection of their products too.

Ill throw my nickels worth in on this,I would call Richards response to the OP military. just the info you requested with no feel good bs attached.I personaly dont find offence in that.As too posting a meme poking fun at the OP, yea know, there was a day when people had live in person relationships and in my experience there was sometimes mocking, teasing and other schinanigans that would be done to a new member of our social circle and everyone still loved each other and life went on. A virtual relationship can have the same hazards so if one decides to enter, be aware that could happen and if you cant stand the heat, dont go in the kitchen. Otherwise Ryan welcome to the forum!

Cleaning a Flintstone resin body
Spruslayer replied to thatz4u's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I used a mix of 50% water and %50 dollar store degreaser in a ultrasonic cleaner for about 15 minuets.I supose just a good overnite soaking of degreaser followed by a clear water rinse should do the trick -
How many molds?
Spruslayer replied to Spruslayer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
In my case of waiting for the Grumpy Vega,to me producing that number of kits should fill the demand as i dont think as popular as the Grumpy vega is, its not world wide known like say Godzilla -
How many molds?
Spruslayer replied to Spruslayer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for the response guys.At 1 per minute if all gose well, five 8 hour shifts will produce about 2400 kits. With really popular kits with world wide distribution i can see where that may not be enough -
2X on the color,well done
-
With the newly tooled kits and parts coming out recently, how many copies of the mold of a subject are made to fill the demand for the product,or how many kits of one model can be produced per day if there was only one mold? Being im still waiting on my Grumpy Jenkins kit that i preordered is what got me wondering.

amt 1202 1/25 AMT 1963 Chevy II Nova Station Wagon - Craftsman Plus
Spruslayer replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I completely get that, used to work for a mom and pop music store, same scenario. To me the blame falls on the Revells and R2's out there The playing field should be equal for every one instead of letting the internet sharks kill the hometown guys. Same can be said about who gets the new release first, seams to be..............................the internet stores.- 599 replies

That's another mishap,I bought one bottle of a green glows under black light that covered well but due to the mistakes I ran out. None to be found so I buy this color and it would not cover so there are several heavy costs and it still looks uneven.the color is lighter on the web pics than it really is. Thanks everyone for the lQQks!
