On a microscopic piece of sand that floats through space is a fragment of a man's life. Left to rust is the place he lived in and the machines he used. Without use, they will disintegrate from the wind and the sand and the years that act upon them; all of Mr. Corry's machines - including the one made in his image, kept alive by love, but now obsolete in the Twilight Zone.

Moebius 66 ford/JF tanker bed
Spruslayer replied to Spruslayer's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thanks Doug. The tires are literaly up against the frame rails,it should have been narrowed to be a better fit. There was only minor cleanup to the outside of the tanker, but the bottom and inside required a lot of dremel time to make work. I would have liked a better front axle but that one worked well with only minor modification. -
Lookin good. Is that paint or is it molded in color?

This is my effort on the 66 Ford short bed with tanker bed from Jimmy Flintstone. The short bed was not a good choice to start with as i dident want to cut the frame, but still was able to get the wheels in the right place by moving the axle back. The front axle is from the 55 camo truck kit and the wheels and tires are from Scenes Unlimited. Used the pu bed floor to help mount the tanker bed Interior not correct for a 350 but you know about the rabbit hole ?♂️ Thanks for lookin

As Allen said that is very likely how the process go'es.What i cant wrap my head around is why Revell let the 69 Chevelle out with an obvious flaw that is the rear end/bumper. In my working days I was a Mold/die maker, not models but bottle molds and tool dies.If i tried to pass something off as screwed up as the rear end of that model i would either be doing it over or depending on how much the financial hit was i could be fired.yes i do realize virtually every model out today has some sort of flaw that one for me puts the kit in the "do not buy bin" The 69 is some of my fav classic cars and i was excited to see what Revell would do with that subject but with the AMT mishap and now this looks like ill be waiting a bit longer for a better example. Looking forward to see what materializes with this Mustang,so hopefully no design train wrecks to try a make workarounds for or worse another kit to put in the "do not buy bin"

What is this defect
Spruslayer replied to Spruslayer's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
That is good to know. The only company i have ever requested a part from was Pegasus and they too responded quickly with a replacement part Thank you everyone for the replies -
This is the head from the Moebius 66 ford short bed. Is their a term to describe this? I am going to call Moebius Tuesday to see about getting a replacement and would like to accurately describe the defect.

67 Impala SS grill help
Spruslayer replied to Spruslayer's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Looks like black it will be on this one,Thank you Mark and Richard -
I am just starting on the AMT 67 Impala SS and was looking up reference pics when i noticed that the grills are all not the same for that car. What i am wondering is which version would i copy to be factory correct,or was the difference related to the color of the car I am referring to the part of the grill to the outside of the headlights, some are black and some are white.
